The Time for Figs

I was listening recently to a podcast by Justin Abraham of Company of Burning Hearts out of Wales. In it he was talking about time, and how we are not meant to be subject to time, but rather reign over it. I have given this subject some thought over the past number of years as I have explored what I refer to as time and space alteration miracles, but have had minimal success duplicating results. In addition to the revelation contained in the message, it sparked a number of thoughts in me as I listened.

Romans 8:19-21 says: ” For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” This is a key verse in understanding our intended dominion over time–that time itself, as part of creation, is under bondage to decay, and that as the children of God it is our responsibility to bring time out of the domain of decay and under our dominion, where we will rule and reign over it and steward and direct time as we see fit. It is only from that place that we can understand our purpose over time, and then get an understanding of Jesus’ perspective on the same matter.

There is a story of Jesus and his encounter with a fig tree that always struck me as strange, because it did not appear to demonstrate his heart toward creation in any way. In fact, his attitude toward the fig tree seemed downright heartless, but in looking deeper I believe it illustrates an important lesson about who we are meant to be and how creation is meant to respond to us as the sons and daughters of God.

“The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.”
“In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. (Mark 11: 12-14, 20-25)”

I always had trouble with this passage because Jesus cursed the tree for not bearing fruit when it wasn’t even the season for bearing fruit, and I can safely assume that Jesus knew that. I also don’t think he was just in a bad mood and releasing his temper on the tree. No, this is about time and seasons. As a son of God, Jesus lived (and still lives) in a realm where all creation can respond to him according to his desires. He passed this legacy on to his disciples in John 15 when he said “ask whatever you desire and it will be done for you.” (Verse reference here). What was really happening is that Jesus desired figs, but the tree did not respond and give him figs in spite of his ability to change the flow of time and to live out of a different realm of time than the creation. When Jesus is around, time can go forward, backwards, skip around, or even stay still–it doesn’t matter because the sons of God reign over creation–they are not subject to it.

time travel path 2

I confess to not understanding why the tree didn’t produce fruit under those circumstances, but the scriptures have many references to time not working how we always have assumed it does. Joshua fought a battle where the sun stood still. Hezekiah prayed and time turned backwards by hours. Jesus was slain before the moment of conception of time and space–he was the slain lamb outside of time! Time has no dominion over Jesus nor does it have dominion over what he purchased on our behalf. We have been brought into the inheritance of the sons of God–those who live outside of the constructs of space-time, outside of the finite rules of mass and conservation, energy and motion. All things are possible with God because we are now born from above–from heaven, from the eternal outside-of-time-and-space realm where there is no law. As He is NOW, so are we in this world.

Spirit of a Dead Child

Today’s article is written by a guest, Melody Paasch, a teacher, prophet and dream interpreter.

In 2012, a ministry partner and I were in South Africa. We had been placed to rest in a large Guest House in the wine country for a week or so. We were extremely weary after a long chain of meetings that were somewhat intense. The battle had been strong, and the opposition fierce. As we surveyed the house, I noticed an antique baby crib in one corner of one of the rooms. I didn’t feel that it was original to the house, but it was very very old. (My background is design, so I love antiques.)

Not long after our arrival I got ready to settle in for a nap. I had chosen the bedroom with the baby bed. There was something about this crib that I couldn’t put my finger on. It was highlighted to me for some reason, but I didn’t know why. I continued to prepare to sleep and I always pray over and cleanse the property where I rest.

babyspiritdeathliferesurrection

It is also my habit to seal off old furnishings that might hold negative entities or traumatic memory. (Remember, all matter has memory.) I renounced and broke the power and the manifestation of anything attached to the furnishings. I went through my whole nightly routine when sleeping on foreign land. I cozied up for a short nap and I dozed off. I hadn’t realized it, but my right arm was stretched out toward the crib. I had no sense of anything in the room, and sensed only peace when I fell asleep.

I must have only been asleep for fifteen minutes, when I was jolted awake feeling the warmth of a human about to touch my outstretched hand. I immediately saw a vision of a female child reaching for me, and I SUDDENLY became cognizant and began to pray! Now, I have never seen, heard, sensed or felt any sort of spiritual manifestation after praying over everything in my room before. This was new to me, but I felt that Father was trying to tell me something. So, we began to ask what Father had on His mind,

What He said next was not in our book of doctrine, and I don’t know how to explain it. All I can do is share what followed. So, if you have an issue with it, you’ll need to take it up with Him. He told us that a child had lost it’s life in that crib many years ago. I suddenly saw the face of a baby girl around 1 year old and we heard Papa say that her parents had never overcome their loss. He continued to tell us that they held onto their suffering over losing her for the rest of their years.

We asked what He wanted us to do, and He unfolded a strange strategy. He specifically directed us in Identificational Repentance. IR was not new to me, but the circumstance was. We repented on behalf of the child’s parents, for never emotionally letting her go. For remaining in the deep despair of dark mourning. For blaming themselves. We broke and renounced all agreement they had made with their grief and shame. We were acutely aware that it is always necessary to employ “repentance” and “forgiveness” to release or receive inner healing.

We released the sorrow on their behalf. I recall the deep pain and suffering that I felt as we prayed. We felt in our spirits that this was the only child this couple had given birth to. Then Father asked us to release forgiveness to them by His Spirit, in the spirit realm where they were residing. We released forgiveness to the parents from the child, to the parents from themselves and to the parents of course, from Father. And what came next surprised me as I have no theology or doctrine for the event. Papa asked us to release the child into His arms.

This is what we were instructed to do. As I said, I can’t explain it, but know that it happened. Such a heavy peace then fell, and we felt the tangible pleasure and presence of Father. As if he smiled down upon us, and I fell into a deep restful sleep. I still do not know if this was an assignment He had placed us there for, or if He was showing or teaching us something.

I can tell you that I came away KNOWING, that He is the one true and living God, who loves intensely and with deep and vibrant passion. I committed that day not to ask for the reason, but to simply enjoy being in His service. My heart is to be obedient, whether I or any human can explain it. And since that day, He has employed me in such events, again. Maybe this is one of the ways we are called to literally snatch the souls of men from the hand of the enemy. I don’t know, but I do love my job!

Time Warping

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]

Today we feature a guest blog on Time-warping written by a friend.  For various reasons she prefers to leave her name off the post, but there is follow-up information at the end if you want to get in touch.  Enjoy!

“This all started a few years ago when I was praying in tongues a lot. By a lot I mean 1, 2, 3 hours a day. Speaking in tongues during drive time, and singing elsewhere in case somebody could hear me. At some point during that intense spiritual activity, I started making really good time.

It was like time would stand still and I’d keep going.

At my job, there are logs of where I was at what time, for accountability purposes. There is plenty on record of me being in two places, not at the same time, but a minute or so apart. There were very few days where I wasn’t going home hours ahead of schedule.

I worried about this in the beginning, and decided that since I wasn’t entirely in control, I wasn’t going to worry about it and I wasn’t going to falsify data, even if I could figure out how to. I would run around and let the chips fall. This has resulted in shiny-shoed government officials following me around with stop watches and later, GPS tracking my whereabouts and speed.

I was out walking one day when a guy came flying out of his house yelling at me. “How are you faster than me when I’m faster than you?” I walked back puzzled. He elaborated that I can be out for a casual stroll while he power walks or runs and I always beat him. I hadn’t realized I was in a race. Things like that make me a little nervous that I’m being noticed. Evidently I don’t look like The Flash, since he was commenting on how slow I seem.

Is This Supernatural Transport?

This is the first thing people assume.  I don’t think so. I don’t believe I’ve ever had that happen, although I’m certainly wanting that. I don’t think it’s that, because I’m cognizant of everywhere I go. I don’t have the “skip” that transporters have. It doesn’t feel any different as far as speed, the only thing I notice is that it goes smooth for me. I seriously think the time just changes. I also know how to function efficiently in the natural realm, and that factors in as well.

So why was this happening? That’s still the big question. At the time, I was writing my book, and running a business and I’ve since added a second business, so in some ways it made that possible, but there were also some drawbacks in what a friend referred to as “spiritual jet-lag.” There would be this period afterward where I wasn’t being tremendously effective with all my new found time.

For lack of a better way to explain, I was having a hard time functioning in the here and now. Not that I couldn’t, I just didn’t want to. I was a bit sullen and resistant coming out of it. I didn’t want to have a “normal” conversation with someone, I didn’t want to go home and sit on the couch with my husband and watch tv. I felt like I had been ruined for “normal.” The problem was, everybody I love still lived in “normal.” It broke my heart.

There were lots of nights where I would go up on the mountain and grieve and pray before I felt like I could go be around people again without being crushed. Not exactly a time saver at that point, and I felt responsibility to do “important” things with my gift of time. Yet I did get past that stage, and I find that I’m fine and functional anywhere, anytime now. I also understand that sometimes the gift of time is just that; a gift, with no strings attached.

How To Bend Time

I teach a business class for spiritual entrepreneurs and the following is excerpted from the module on time management.

While I can somewhat lean into this and get it to happen, this is far from a formulaic promise that you’ll have the same results. I’m still figuring it all out. I will say that following these steps will lead to good fruit, even if it’s not the same as mine.key to time

1. Pray in the Spirit

As I said earlier, I really believe this is where it started for me.  While I think it was more of a catalyst to get me into a proper mind frame than the actual activity itself, it did the job.  I’m not going to tell you that you need to pit in the time I did, because this is certainly not a “works” thing, but for me the 2 hours a day blew the lid off in several ways.

2. Mind Frame.

You can’t step out of time in anything less than a full peace. Being at rest even in the midst of activity is key. Having scarcity mentality in the area of time will stop you up. So will offense or any other negative dwelling place.

3. No Time Excuses

“I don’t have time” can no longer be a valid reason. This doesn’t mean you say yes to everything, it means it can’t be your go-to excuse for why you say no to someone.

4. One With God

Get a revelation that you are one with a God who is outside of time, therefore you are too. He’s in you, you’re in Him, head knowledge doesn’t cut it. Ask Him to show you this personally.

5. Ask That You Would Walk in Wisdom.

Something I have been turning over in my head for a couple years, is the verse “walk in wisdom towards those outside, redeeming the time.” It continues, “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt that you may know how to answer every man.” Then in Ephesians 5 we have “redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” That chapter is all about having your act together on an inner level and walking in wisdom. I’d recommend a review of that whole chapter since it does address being filled with the Spirit, and speaking and singing in tongues.

So if you’re going to redeem time, wisdom is the common denominator. Wisdom, we are told, is available to anyone who asks.

Kairos Vs Chronos

Redeem means to take the power from another. Kellie, a student in my business class gave us a good lesson on Kairos vs Chronos. The gist is Chronos is the Greek god of time. This is where we get “Father Time” and chronological time. We need to not empower that dude. So we’re clear, other gods = demons. Kairos of course by the New Testament is an appointed time in the purpose of God.

Wikipedia says Kairos “signifies a time lapse, a moment of indeterminate time in which everything happens.” I quite like that definition. Kairos is smack dab in the middle of where we want go be. Redeeming the time, I believe is stepping out of chronological time and into Kairos.

Note: I don’t believe that chronological time in and of itself is evil, only that we aren’t to be subject to it. God uses it, and so should we. It should serve us, not the other way around.

Here’s your Einstein on the matter. He of course said that time is relative. “The perception of past, present and future is a stubbornly persistent illusion.” Take that Chronos. We are made to have eternity in our hearts.

If you’re in Him and He’s in you, then you’re outside of time. Actually, it’s a dual thing according to what you choose to engage. When you prophesy, you are pulling from the future. When you observe something in the past, you change it. Google the observer effect in quantum physics. You are always moving in and out of chronos time.

Time Change is Linked to the Battle Between Good and Evil

Time changed at the fall in Eden, again in the days of Noah, then again at the cross where the curse became null and void. This verse from Daniel’s end times vision is interesting. 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

This “wearing out the Saints” thing gives validity to my thinking that a posture of rest is crucial. It’s yet another Kingdom paradox, to go faster, you get out of your hurry and rest. To be clear, rest in this case does not mean inactivity, rather finding your rhythm and being at peace in your work.

I found it useful at one point to draft myself up a prayer. I tend to think better on paper, and I’m not a verbal processor whatsoever. Here’s mine to borrow.

I repent of any areas I have not been walking in wisdom. I repent of animosity towards others for taking my time. I forgive those who have been careless with time; mine, theirs, those that I care about… I ask forgiveness for judgements about time; mine, theirs… I repent for wasting time, not understanding time or my relationship with it. I repent of every time I have used it as an excuse, or believed that I don’t have enough. I repent of coming into agreement with Chronos, and toiling under the sun. I declare that I am free from their influence! Show me a better way! I repent of clock watching and schedule sticking. I declare those things serve me rather than me serving them. I am not a victim of a 24 hour day.

I want unlimited time, not just at work, but in relationships, at home, in the garden/secret place. I want enough to go around. I ask for a repayment of time that’s been lost. That it would be supernaturally made up.

No more running out of time, I declare that I am one with a God who is outside of time and space, therefore I am too. I am not under the sun, or any other natural cycles but the Son. I have all the time I need. Show me what to do with my time, teach me to steward it well, but also set my mind at ease when I warp so that I’m not worried that I’m doing the wrong thing with my gift of time. I repent of thinking that I have to do big things with the surplus, and may there always be a surplus.”

My Encounter With Legion

Early on in my marriage my wife and I, along with her daughter and son-in-law traveled to Oahu, Hawaii. We spent a portion of our time there in Waikiki, although we traveled to other parts of the island as well. One of the things that struck us was the sizeable homeless population and how incredibly prevalent it was there. In reality it was probably just more obvious there than in some other places in the U.S., but it still stood out in our minds. There are entire regions of the beach on part of the island made of of miles and miles of tents where the homeless live–families, some of whom have jobs but simply cannot afford to live in houses or apartments.

Out of all the homeless, there was one particular man in Waikiki who caught my attention. His name was Ryan. His hair was a bit unkempt and his clothes were not in the best of conditions, but at the risk of being politically incorrect, he was otherwise a beautiful specimen of a Hawaiian man. I mean, given a shave and a better set of clothes, he could be GQ material. At any rate, from what I could see his biggest problem was the voices–he held conversations with other “people” that only he could hear. From my estimation, Ryan’s voices were a series of demons who constantly bombarded him, with a possible occasional multiple personality thrown in there for good measure. It was sad, really, because he was a very nice man who was clearly bound in what would otherwise be considered a “mental health” problem.

Interestingly he seemed to be aware of his voices and how long his personality would remain under control. By this, I mean that when someone is under significant demonic influence (also referred to at times as ‘demonic possession’) it is possible for their personality to remain on top, or fot it to do what I call “go under” and have a demon’s personality be the one in full control of the body. This means the demon’s voice and words would be the ones coming through the voicebox, and the body’s movements would also be under the demon’s control. Subsequently, when I was speaking o him I would have about ten to fifteen seconds after saying his name before the demons would start to exert control again. One time he even said to me “I have to go now” and started to shuffle away right as the voices were starting to come back and take over again.

My wife and I ran into Ryan on a regular basis and I made an effort to talk to him each time, if nothing else than to greet him and wish him a good day. While we didn’t hold any deep conversations or develop a lasting relationship of any kind, I cared about this man and wanted him free. The night before we left the island to head back to the mainland, I was walking along the beach with my wife and we prayed we would see Ryan one more time. I wanted to pray for him.

Although it was dark, the street lights shone on the area well enough. We walked around for some time, to the point it seemed like we weren’t going to find him. We discovered him on the beach leaning against a palm tree and reading a bible from the light of a streetlamp. I let him know we were going to be heading out and that I wanted to pray for him if he didn’t mind. I was nervous this entire time, not sure if what I was doing was right, but I really wanted to pray for him and try to cast demons out of him. I was asking God this entire time to show me what He was doing. Before I prayed Ryan wanted to read me a bible passage. The verses Ryan read to me were a passage out of the gospel of Mark which answered my question straightaway.

“When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, ‘What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!’ For Jesus had said to him, ‘Come out of this man, you impure spirit!’

Then Jesus asked him, ‘What is your name?’

‘My name is Legion,’ he replied, ‘for we are many.’ And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. The demons begged Jesus, ‘Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.’ He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.”  Mark 5:2-13 NIV

I kid you not. Ryan read the above verses to me out-loud, answering my silent prayer to know whether what I was doing was right or not. And let me tell you, if anyone was in the running for the Legion-demonized Man Award, he was certainly an appropriate choice. He didn’t have the chain-ripping and self-cutting, but he still had a pretty serious case. I prayed a simple prayer for him and commanded all the demons to leave. It was short, simple, to the point, without hours of working with the man to ensure they all left. I prayed for him to be filled with the Holy Spirit and for God to bless him, then Sunshine and I said goodbye and went back to our hostel for the night. I wasn’t really sure how much impact anything I did had, if any at all. Nonetheless, I was encouraged by the verse Ryan had shared and I knew that if nothing else, I had done my part.

breaking-free-4

The next day we packed and got ready to leave, but we all headed down to the beach for one last hurrah before flying out. To my surprise, Ryan walked up to me and greeted me. I was shocked. Every time I had connected with him before it was because I had walked over to him and directly addresses him. He had never once initiated a conversation with me until now. If I ever wondered whether our prayers have any effectiveness, whether to obey God in strange situations, or whether we have authority to cast out demons, this experience cemented those truths in my mind. We have far more authority over demons than we realize, and if the single un-sure not-highly-faith-filled prayer of a believer on a beach late at night was effective enough to cause a shift in someone’s mental state, how much more when we get purposeful about it. I thank God that he has given us authority over powers of darkness!

4 Steps to Healing

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

I recently prayed for a friend who had chronic lung issues which were being exacerbated by the smoke from the fires in Oregon and Washington. Instead of doing what I might normally do, which is to pray for healing for the lungs, I decided to take a different approach, one that I think many people will find helpful when praying for healing–I did some inner healing, belief-modification, deliverance, and THEN prayed for healing. It worked like a charm — healed in a jiffy!

For the sake of truth-in-advertising I should mention that the session took over two hours between all the praying and deliverance and such, but the actual part where we did the healing took only a few minutes! Why is this? Simple. Almost all healing does not originate from a physical problem.

What? How so?   Certainly there are times when someone gets in a car accident and has a broken leg or eats something poisonous and gets sick. Yeah, that happens but they are the minority of the injuries, sickness, and disease that we deal with in life. As an RN myself, I see tons of sick and injured people at work on a daily basis, but many of those problems didn’t start with a physical problem. Rather, they began with emotional and spiritual problems and erroneous subconscious beliefs.

You see, this world is far more complex than we often remember, and there are levels of reality, each of which has an influence on the others. However, there are higher realms and lower realms in this reality, and in order from highest to lowest they are: spirit realm, soul realm, physical/body realm. The spirit realm is the domain of God and is the “location” where heaven exists. Our spirits naturally interact in this realm and they give feedback to our soul, which acts as the interface between our spirit and our body. Our soul is the seat of the mind, will, and the emotions, so when we have inaccurate beliefs or emotional trauma or injuries, there is a kink in the flow of life-energy from heaven through our spirit into our soul and down to the physical body. These kinks create their own negative energy signature that can influence or even directly cause disease in the body. In order to remove these kinks and free up the flow we have to update the wrong beliefs and heal the heart-wounds. As we do this, our soul stops releasing the negative energy because it is no longer PRODUCING it, and our bodies receive an uninterrupted flow now that our internal blockages that prevent healing are gone.

There is another thing that needs to happen though. Whenever we have an area of weakness in our souls, whether through emotional hurts or wrong beliefs, demons find a way to gain access to inhabit a part of our soul. When they inhabit those weak places they will remain there until they leave of their own choice or until they are forcefully ejected. After dealing with the access points, as mentioned above, casting out demons usually becomes pretty simple. Once the demons are gone, there are literally NO hindrances to healing, which is why it tends to become easy to get people healed after doing the above three steps. While I will not promise it is always that straightforward, I encourage anyone who wants to be effective in healing to seriously consider this model: inner healing, correcting mindsets, deliverance, then healing.

One aspect of inner healing that can be overlooked at times is the issue of fragments.  These are fractured parts of our soul that hold onto the memory and pain of traumatic events.  While I did not address any fragmented parts during this healing session with my friend, addressing and healing/integrating fractured parts of ourselves offers a huge benefit toward inner healing.  The truth is that everyone has them; most people just don’t know about them.  This is a very deep subject all on its own, so for more details, consider reading my coauthored book Broken to Whole: Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul.  I and my coauthors go in-depth on this subject to provide the tools and resources needed to gain total freedom and wholeness.

Again, no two prayer-times are exactly alike and the above items can be rearranged as the situation calls for, but if you are sure to cover those issues it is highly unlikely that there will be much difficulty when it comes time to do the healing part of things. At that point the only thing that might hold you back is your own faith, but when all the hindrances are out of the way, it really doesn’t take much of that either! One final word to note, for any of you who have chronic conditions that you have prayed and prayed and prayed for healing but have never been healed of, if you have never covered my 4 Steps then I encourage you to find some hope to keep moving forward and give it another try, but this time following my steps first. I would be surprised if you don’t see a significant difference when it comes time to be healed!

Court Case: Alignments with Death

Symbol of law and justice in the empty courtroom, law and justice concept.

As many followers of this blog know, I believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ includes physical immortality, as evidenced by many scriptures that speak toward that end as well as things Jesus himself directly stated to his disciples.  With that said, I am not discussing immortality in this post so much as I am sharing a heavenly experience I had earlier this month that I engaged specifically to deal with matters of life and death in the spirit realm.  It is my hope that this post encourages you in your own pursuit of all things spiritual and godly.

I went up into the spirit back into the Courts of Heaven where I had been led previously by an angel to disavow attachments I had made to Death and to put myself in the custody of the Spirit of Life, Holy Spirit. The court case began with someone presiding over the case, although I did not quite understand who. I was clear, however, that this was a human, not an angel or other being presiding over the court.

I took my seat on the right side, and Death was located at a table to my left. There was no jury, as this was essentially a custody hearing and I was seeking to change custodians. I was invited to speak and explain why I was seeking this court hearing. I explained that I did not understand when I was younger that I did not have to die, and so I made many statements and held beliefs and engaged in actions that aligned myself with death and I placed myself in its care. I went on to say that I now understand that I do not have to die and I want to be released from Death’s custody.

Death then stood up and had a chance to speak. When I looked at Death I saw this thin, spectre-like being that was a sort of smoky black with ill-defined features. It stood up before the judge in a hissing voice and began to accuse me, stating that I had chosen it and that I was its rightful property. After it gave a short speech, it sat back down.

Next, I saw a man holding a scroll approach the judge’s bench–it was Jesus. He unfurled this scroll before the judge and they had a short conversation which I could not hear. I couldn’t read the scroll but I understood that it was basically a writ stating that I had been fully bought and covered by Jesus’ blood, and that as a result Death had no rightful hold over me. This was all the evidence that was needed, and after the judge saw that, he called me up to the witness stand to testify. This was my opportunity to declare and decree in the heavens what my intentions were for the future.

I got up to the stand and I stated that I now believe that I am not destined to die, but to live forever. I acknowledged that while I once believed I had to die when I was younger, I have since learned the truth and have come to accept that reality. I stated that I no longer consider myself under custody to death and place myself in custody of the Spirit of Life, and I broke agreement with every belief, mindset, and understanding that I had previously held that said I would get sick or had to die. I renounced every statement I had made or that anyone else has made that has cursed me to be sick or die in any way, or that I have agreed with about the hold that death has over me and others. I stated that I am no longer allowed to die, but if for any reason I ever were to die, that I would resurrect immediately unless the Lord wanted to show me something in the heavens first, but that any time I were to ever die that I would always, always come back to life. Having completed my decree, the judge banged the gavel once and basically declared that my custody had changed hands.

Before the case was dismissed, the being who was serving as my counsel, who I could not clearly see but believe was Holy Spirit, petitioned the judge for a transfer of property from Death to me. The counsel basically explained that Death had stolen from me and as a result that I was entitled to seven-fold the amount stolen from me. The judge instantly granted this, and assigned a bailiff of the court to go carry out this decree, then ended the case.

With the court case over, Death stalked out of the room, but he was actually hobbling now, as though life force had been taken from him and he was now weaker. A man who was glowing in golden light approached me, and introduced himself as Isaac. I understood that he was Abraham’s son. As I could not see him clearly, he dimmed the light emanating from him, and while I could not see him clearly I could see that his hair was brown, that his face was somewhat rounded in shape, and that he was shorter than me. He explained that he had a few things to share with me. First, he told me that while I was not at that point yet, as I continued down this path of immortality that at a certain point my cells themselves would literally undergo a transformation. I had a vision of what he was saying as he was speaking, and it showed me where my cells literally transformed from normal cells into vibrant, golden-glowing cells that emanated life-energy and had no speck of sickness or disease in them.

He then escorted me to a garden, which he said was my garden in heaven. It was spacious and beautiful, with much lush greenery that was landscaped quite beautifully, with a gazebo in the part of the garden that I saw. We turned, and Isaac showed me a young tree, approximately five to six feet tall, that had two or three pieces of oblong, pear-like fruit on them. “This is a tree of life. Take a bite of the fruit.” He said. I picked one and took a bite. It was juicy, and as I ate it I could feel a message being sent to my cells to dump toxins and other garbage they had been holding, and I could feel my intestines beginning to church slightly. At his instruction I took two more big bites, then he told me to plant the core in the ground, which I did a short distance from the other one in an empty space. I understood that a new tree was going to grow from it, and that because life in heaven is so abundant that even the fruit wasn’t going to decay but rather would remain intact underground yet still have the tree grow out of it. From there, Isaac took me to a mountain which he said was my mountain–my property. Stored inside were a great many things, but he took me to a room that was filled with scrolls and other writings.

The room was jam-packed, but everything was in disorder. Random scrolls and rolls of paper were piled on things and papers were spilling out of filing cabinets, as well as various piles on the table and other surfaces. He explained that there was a lot of revelation present in me, but that because everything was so cluttered that there was revelation I had received that I haven’t even realized because it is hidden under the piles of disorganization. He instructed me to work on “cleaning up” so that everything would become more organized. I had a vision of a small, half-sheet-sized piece of glowing golden paper that was sitting on the floor somewhere, and that while I could see this paper in the vision, that it was hidden under other things and that as I cleaned, I would find it. I took this to mean that I needed to clean up how I have my computer files of all the prophetic words, dreams, and other revelation that God has given me so that it is more accessible. From there the experience ended.

I hope this gives you not only a glimpse of some of the things that are possible in the spirit realm, but a picture of what a case in the Courts of Heaven might look like. There are many courts and the cases do look different depending on the subject matter, but I encourage you to test the waters and try it out for yourself!

When Bunnies Die

Baby bunnies

Two days ago one of my two rabbits gave birth; the baby was stillborn. I prayed over that baby bunny for over 3 hours, and even my 3-, 5-, and 7-year-old granddaughters and stepdaughter joined me at points. Late that evening, God told me to move on from praying for the bunny, and that while I WOULD raise the dead, it wouldn’t be then, the day after, or the day after that. This really struck me because God didn’t just specify that the bunny wouldn’t come back that day or the next, but he specified three days, the usual length of time that I allot for praying for our animals who have died (we have rabbits and chickens), and for any roadkill that I decide to bring home to pray for.

I was pretty upset after God told me this. I had already named the cute little bunny Miracle, and had already envisioned how cool it would be to have the rabbit grow up to be an adult when it had been born dead. I will be honest–I sobbed in my wife’s arms for about 5 minutes. On the one hand it might seem like “just a dead baby rabbit,” but for me death is something personal. As a nurse who works with a geriatric population, I cry almost every time a patient dies, whether I knew them well or not. Death bothers me. It upsets me. I don’t like it, don’t believe in it, and don’t understand when the reality of abundant life Jesus purchased for us doesn’t manifest like it should.

My point in telling you all this isn’t for you to feel sorry for me or pray for the bunny, but to know that it’s totally normal and okay to have real-life struggles as we go through this process of apprehending what God has laid before us. Reversing death is not something most people talk about or even believe is possible. Resurrection isn’t even all that popular in many Holy-Spirit-filled circles. I mean, anyone would be blessed if they were present for a resurrection, but it’s not something most people are going to actually pray for, much less seek out. As such, there is a risk involved in actually even talking about this topic.

Resurrection is not always an easy topic, and praying for the dead is even harder, not because it’s difficult to actually say a prayer over a body, but for other reasons. Emotionally there is the risk of failure. What happens if I get emotionally invested in this resurrection and it doesn’t happen? I assure you I am emotionally invested in every resurrection I seriously attempt. I’m not sure it’s actually possible to seriously pray for resurrection WITHOUT getting emotionally involved. Maybe it is, but for me resurrection has a lot to do with love and compassion, and compassion has a feeling associated with it. Compassion IS by nature emotionally involved, which can make it difficult in those times when the resurrection effort fails. Lets face it, sometimes we get discouraged, or even others around us actively discourage us. Sometimes we get into doubt or fear; fear that we might die too, fear that we might catch a disease from the body, fear of almost anything else. I believe that all of these things are part of the process of overcoming. We experience these doubts, fears, discouragement, and yet in the midst of them we have the opportunity to make a conscious choice in our hearts and minds that say “I am an overcomer because of He who has overcome.”

I want to encourage you and remind you that YOU are a Deadraiser. YOU are a Resurrectionist!! YOU are the bridge between Heaven and Earth, the delivery system of Divine power and presence. YOU are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Whatever you are facing, whatever sickness or death you are praying over, contending against, dealing with, I exhort you to continue to stand firm in the promises of God. You are strong, you are courageous, you are beautiful. You are steadfast, you are brilliant, and your best moments are even now coming toward you. Greater is He who is in YOU than any life circumstance around you. And remember, it is never “too late.” We serve a God who raises the dead.

Spiritual Combat – Excerpt from The Gamer’s Guide

This is an excerpt from my upcoming book “The Gamer’s Guide to the Kingdom of God” which will be sold through Amazon.com.

There are a number of different aspects to combat in the spiritual realms and each one has its own place and importance. Before explaining further, however, it is important to understand what this “heavenly combat” actually looks like. For some this concept conjures up images of witches and warlocks casting curses and dark spells over a campfire in some remote province of Africa or South America. For others this involves a Catholic Priest wielding a flask of holy water, shouting, “The love of Christ compels you!” For yet another this might include visions of angels and demons hovering above the earth clashing in an otherworldly battle unnoticed by the people below. All of these are correct in their own way, yet none of them paint the whole picture.
To gain a better understanding of spiritual combat, we must start by knowing who the enemy is. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” The battle first and foremost is not a fight against other people. It can be easy to fight back against others who are doing unkind things to us, (and there are times to take court action or similar) but as a whole, our focus needs to be on the spiritual battle we are in, and that battle must be waged accordingly. Verbally or physically attacking others will never solve spiritual problems, although it very well may compound them.

Unlike some games that make use of redemptive violence, such as murdering the evildoers to reduce the overall ratio of good to evil in the world, this does not exist in the Kingdom of God. We do not fight fire with the same fire, but rather we operate the opposite as those in this world do battle — we operate out of love at all times. And we are not left without assistance, as both protection and weaponry are afforded us for this selfsame battle. Ephesians 6:13-18 goes on to explain further: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

The armor is not just a conceptual construct, but literal armor. In How Satan Stops our Prayers: Combat in the Heavenly Realms John Mulinde discusses a conversation he had with a former follower of Satan who often had made war against the followers of Jesus and what that man had explained to him about the Armor of God:

———————————————————————————-
“The man said that when prayer breaks through like that, the answer will always come. He said he did not know of a single case in which prayer broke through and the answer did not come [from heaven].

He said that the answer always came, but that in most cases, it never reached the person who asked for it. Why? The battle in the heavenlies. He said that after they [the demons] succeeded in cutting off the open heaven and restoring the rock, they would watch the person and wait because they knew the answer would definitely come.

Then the man said something that really shook my faith. It was because of what he shared next that I fasted for ten days asking, ‘Lord, is this true? Can You prove it to me?’ The man said that every Christian has an angel who serves them. Now we know the Bible says that angels are ministering spirits who minister to us. He said that when people pray, the answer comes in the hands of their angel. The angel brings the answer, just like we read in the book of Daniel. Then he said something that was difficult to receive: If the one who prays knows of the spiritual armor and is clothed with it, the answer comes by an angel who is also clothed in full armor.

Reinforcements - Angelic Hosts

However, if the one who prays doesn’t care about being clothed in spiritual armor, their angel comes to them without spiritual armor. When Christians are careless about the kinds of thoughts that enter their minds and do not fight the battle for their minds, their angels come to them without helmets. Whatever spiritual weapon you ignore on earth, your angel does not have it when he serves you. In other words, our spiritual armor is not protecting our physical bodies; it is protecting our spiritual exploits.

The man said that as the angel was coming, they would watch him to find the areas that were uncovered and then attack those areas. If he didn’t have a helmet, they would shoot at his head. If he didn’t have a breastplate, they would shoot at his chest. If he didn’t have shoes, they would make a fire, causing him to have to walk through fire.

Now, I am just repeating what the man said. Actually, we asked him, ‘Can angels feel fire?’ You know what his reply was? ‘Remember this is the spiritual realm. They are spirits dealing with spirits. The battle is intense. When they overpower an angel of God, the first thing they go after is the answer he is carrying, and they get it from him. They then give it to people who are involved in cults or witchcraft, so people might say, ‘I got this because of witchcraft.’’”

———————————————————————————-

As Mulinde and the man he spoke with explained, the Armor of God is real. It is a spiritual armor that has real form and substance and actually protects from spiritual attacks. This armor is important because it not only protects us but allows the angels God has assigned to us to use similar armor to ensure their and our protection, as well as to ensure that the answers to our prayers reach us.

The real question is: How is this armor engaged? Armor is only useful if it can be equipped, which it can. Personally I use the power of declaration. For instance, at times I have prayed and said, “Right now I put on the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit in Jesus’ name.” I have also envisioned myself donning armor to protect myself. According to Hebrews 11, faith is the substance of things not seen. If we choose by prayer or even physically acting out putting on invisible clothing to equip spiritual armor by faith, we can expect that the actual substance is being applied to us, and therefore to our angelic forces as well.
I believe we need to actively engage the attributes of that armor to wear it.  As an example, Isaiah 59:17 says, “He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.” To explain what I mean by sharing the above verse, by my count there are 22 different places in the Bible where nonphysical objects are used as clothing, whether by God, people, or other forces of nature.  The attributes they were clothed with were salvation, thick darkness, joy, shame, disgrace, gladness, splendor, majesty, cursing, righteousness, strength, dignity, vengeance, zeal, terror, despair, gloom, majesty, power, imperishability, heavenly dwelling, and even Christ.
While this is a lengthy list of intangible things that one can be clothed with, the point remains that wearing them looks like something. In other words, there is an experience to go along with the idea of wearing the above-named attributes. When clothed with terror there should either be something that makes us terrified or something about us that terrifies others and being clothed in gloom will likely bring a dark rainy cloud with us wherever we go. If putting on garments of strength, dignity, or righteousness, there should be something about us that causes us to stand with your shoulders just a bit higher and that causes others to stand up a bit straighter when we are around them as the shame, disgrace, and burdens fall off.

To engage the attributes of the armor of God, I believe we need to purpose to live according to those attributes. We ought to live lives that are truthful, righteous, peaceful, full of faith. We must actively pursue and engage physical and emotional healing and deliverance from darkness in our thoughts and actions. In order to do this, to emulate the way Jesus lived, we simply follow Him. As we embody His attributes more and more, the armor becomes even more effective in our lives. Having it and using it, however, are two different things. The armor of God is spiritual in nature and is available to anyone, but as Paul mentioned in Ephesians 6, he exhorted them to actually put it on. This means that it is possible to have it but not wear it. It is important that we actively clothe ourselves with spiritual armor and “put on” the attributes of our King so that we, too, may be equipped for spiritual warfare.

Personal Responsibility For Healing

WATERING-PLANTS-1000X500-940x470

Many of us have heard horror stories of things that happened in the “prayer lines” — those times when someone failed to get healed, was viciously accused by the prayer-leader of not having faith, and how that person left crying, angry, or otherwise. Sad to say but those stories are often true and do actually happen. While the prayer leader may have been well-intentioned it is safe to say that the effects of their words and actions were not just ineffective but actually detrimental. I suggest there is a much better way to operate in this setting or situation, but this way carries over into all aspects of life — it is the Way of Personal Responsibility.

In any prayer situation with others it is safe to say that usually one party (the supplicant) approaches the other (prayer leader) for prayer. The supplicant obviously has a need that they don’t feel is adequately addressed without the assistance of others, which is the reason they sought help. Common sense also dictates that if the supplicant were able to solve the need on their own that they would not have sought help, which tells us that they are in a place of lack. Presumably the prayer leader is in a place of plenty in that area of need, or at least is in less lack, and so the supplicant requests prayer intending the blessing to go from the place of higher influence to lower influence. And so the prayer occurs.

When the prayer occurs there is one vitally important detail the prayer leader must be aware of — that they are responsible for providing the solution. Certainly God is the one ultimately responsible, but on an earthly level God has given us responsibility to bring heaven to earth and so it is the job of the prayer leader to do just that. What this means is that ALL failure in the situation, if blame MUST be apportioned, goes to the prayer leader. Why? Because the supplicant never had it to begin with or they wouldn’t have sought prayer. Thus, any lack of heaven’s breakthrough in the situation is the responsibility of the prayer leader to address, solve, and resolve the matter.

I find it quite sensible to take this approach for a few reasons. First, if one looks at the bible verses where someone was healed by their own faith they directly approached Jesus and usually had a solution in mind but just needed Jesus to give them an extra boost in prayer. There is not a single time Jesus said to someone “your faith has made you well” where they had no pre-formed notion of how this wholeness might occur. When he didn’t say it one can assume their faith did NOT make them well, and therefore most of the time it was not the supplicant’s faith that brought the solution, and anyone else would be wise to adopt a similar mindset.

Second, I have named this the Way of Personal Responsibility for a reason. I have little to no control at all over the lives of others. I cannot make them believe things a certain way, speak, act, or think a certain way, and as such I am the only person whose beliefs, thoughts, and actions I control. If as prayer leader I believe Heaven needs to come to Earth I cannot depend on any other person to provide enough God-power in the situation, as I am the one who is being sought for just that very thing. Therefore it is my responsibility to provide it and I never know when I will be called on for that task. I might be healing someone in a grocery store or a coworker, and it might be nowhere near a highly-anointed church prayer-line where people are getting blessed left and right. If someone needs a touch from heaven I can only count on myself to carry it. Thus I must choose actions that line up with that belief and when all is said and done I can know that I did my all.

By corollary it also means that if in that situation as prayer leader I FAIL to provide the touch from heaven under no circumstances may I begin blaming the other person and at NO point EVER do I tell that person the nine reasons why they failed to be prepared enough for me to pray for them. Obviously they were unprepared or they wouldn’t need prayer in the first place.

It is time that we each individually take a step up in our personal spiritual responsibility. People blame others for heaven failing to manifest as a cover for their own feelings of inadequacy, fear, disappointment, and shame. Blame-passing over why prayers were not answered is not fruitless but rather is poisonous. If heaven is going to manifest it begins with a look at one’s own self not at anyone else in the visual range, and as I and everyone else do this more and more I firmly believe we will see a shift in not just the way we approach prayer with others but the end results as well.

And Your Foot Shall Not Be Taken

bandagedfootI have a friend who has even struggling with health issues for a while. Diabetes led to kidney failure and a number of months back he developed a bad ulcer on his heel. This ulcer has been pretty problematic for him, and the only real blessing I can see in it is that the diabetes has caused such numbness from neuropathy that he can’t feel it. Although it’s also how he got the ulcer in the first place.

I have been praying with him for his foot somewhat regularly, and about a month ago I noticed some signs about his foot-health that were really concerning. Without going into gory details basically the tissue in the foot was slowly dying. My guess at that time was that if something radical didn’t happen then he was going to lose the foot. After I told him this exciting and uplifting news we went back into prayer for complete restoration of the very troubled appendage. The result? Just two days later he was emergently admitted to the hospital.

After meeting with a cluster of doctors at his bedside they all left except one remained behind. This surgeon informed him that he was going to lose his foot and that they would do surgery in two days. As you can imagine, my friend was having one of the worst moments of his life. But it seems that God had other plans. A pastor friend of his had been reading Proverbs that morning and he read a verse that struck a resounding chord within him.

“For The Lord will be your confidence, and your foot will not be taken.” Proverbs 3:26

He called our mutual friend to give him this word, which elated him significantly. Here, God was telling him to place his confidence in Him and that his foot would NOT be taken. My friend did this and took this word to heart. The next day another surgeon from another discipline walked into his room and said “Your circulation in that leg is too good. We aren’t going to take the foot.”

He underwent a few more weeks of treatment in the hospital and left with his foot doing much better. They even started him on special oxygen treatments to speed tissue healing, which they had not been doing prior to the most recent hospitalization. When I heard this story I felt very encouraged. You see, I knew what it was that I saw, and while I had been standing in faith, it was still quite difficult to look at the natural appearance of things and continue to believe for healing. Yet even when things got worse still, it was not too late. God chose his own moment in time to turn the situation around.

This was not only encouraging to me, but I felt this is testimony that is meant to bring encouragement to all people. You see, every individual has things they are believing, hoping, or even just wishing to receive from God. He is the God of Always Enough, and has limitless supply to meet every need. I was reminded through this that the situation does not matter, no matter how dark or horrid it may appear, there is a bright life-giving outcome that God has planned for me and those that I love, and he has planned the same for you.

It is too soon to give up and quit. Perseverance is what wins the race and gains the prize. Push through that problem. Push past that doubt. Ignore the voices of fear & limitation. You don’t know, but the next push, the next prayer, the next hour might contain the answer you have long been waiting to receive. You will make it through.
