It Is Time For A Miracle Reformation

For anyone who has been following The Kings of Eden for some time, you will know that I absolutely love miracles, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and really, every way that Jesus comes and transforms lives. What I don’t love is when we as individual members of the Body of Christ do things that make all of us collectively look stupid. Just this past year we have seen a disappointing end to an extraordinary miracle, and that’s just one example. I’ll explain more of what I mean about that shortly, but I believe that we are stepping into a time we are past due for—the time for a Miracle Reformation!

Back in November of last year (2019), I was driving a trailer of belongings from Oregon to Texas, and kept seeing repeating 111’s. I ended up texting a bunch of photos to a friend because it kept happening just so frequently. Exit 111, 111 miles to the next city, license plates, and more. Normally when this happens to me, God is trying to communicate a message to me. Now, driving at 50-80 mph in a truck with an enclosed trailer isn’t exactly a great time to look up Bible verses, but when I finally was able to look up repeating 1’s and found the following:

“Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his country.” Exodus 11:10

“He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.” Psalm 111:4

Both of these verses speak of “wonders”, and not miracles specifically, but I think of “wonders” as miraculous happenings that cause people to ask questions, to think, and to engage in surprise and admiration of God. As an interesting aside, if you add 111 + 111 you get 222, and Acts 2:22 says, “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know,” yet again pointing to the miraculous. Ultimately, I think that God wants us to both not-harden our hearts toward miracles and also to remember them. But with so much silliness abounding in the church regarding the miraculous, sometimes it is hard not to let a little hardness or skepticism in.

For example, there is a “study” that has been passed around the internet for almost a decade now about speaking in tongues (you can read the earliest I can find of the many re-publishings of it here). It is supposedly by Dr. Carl Peterson who purportedly published through Oral Roberts University, and it says that immunity can be increased by 35-40% through speaking in tongues. Sounds wonderful, right? Wrong. First off, it is impossible to actually locate the study. I’ve tried and failed multiple times (and if anyone is able to produce it, please send it to me and I will correct this statement, but until then . . . impossible to find). Second, the only thing I have ever seen is the exact same piece of text that has been copied and pasted so many times that no one seems to know where it actually first appeared nor how real it is or isn’t. Third, if one actually evaluates the text of the documentation, it is incredibly vague. It doesn’t reference the title of the study, it doesn’t tell us where the very specific 35-40% numbers came from, and while some of the facts about anatomy and physiology written in the statement are verifiable as true, none of that has anything to do with speaking in tongues, and certainly has no connection to an unnamed, unidentified study that no one can produce. And yet, when I recently spoke with some people who were repeating these same numerical statements, they began to argue with me that they didn’t care if a study could prove it or not because “they believe the Bible and know that tongues is healthy for the body.”

Don’t misunderstand me. I believe speaking in tongues is a good idea. There is are reasons Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:18 that, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.” Yet, when someone is challenged on the ability to produce evidence of very specific numerical claims about the effects of the practice on one’s body, I get ridiculed for not having enough faith in God. I’m sorry, but I both have faith in God and enough of a science background to recognize that a study should have actual data associated with it. And when we collectively repeat nonsense enough times that we believe it is true, anyone else with half a brain knows it is absurd and it makes us look stupid. How is that helping encourage people to pursue miracles? It isn’t.

Another disappointment in the past year is the Dalton Bible and its oil production scandal. I have written about the initial miracle here and have a guest author’s article I have shared here on my other website and then my perspective on the scandal here for those who want to read it. In summary though, a Bible began miraculously producing oil a few years back, and at some point early this year it came out that some of that oil may have been planted by a person or persons in the ministry. While the ministry vehemently denied it, the oil stopped flowing, the ministry stopped all meetings, they stopped communicating with the outside world, and then stopped maintaining their ministry web domain, apparently disbanding. While the circumstances surrounding it are sad enough, this is the kind of stuff that causes skeptics to be even more skeptical.

I think it is time we saw a Miracle Reformation—where we not only expect to see and experience signs, wonders, and miracles, but where we also have a high level of discernment regarding what is actually taking place when they occur, as well as intentional accountability that answers the sensible questions of naysayers. Having written multiple books on miracles, with multiple more in the works, I recognize that it is not always possible to provide a so-called “rational” explanation of miracles to those who don’t believe. However, I think sometimes we don’t even try to help people understand what is happening when miracles take place—and I think that is often because we don’t understand what is going on either!

It seems to be a rare breed among people of faith to find those who both seek to operate in miracles and understand what God is doing in and through them. While certainly I don’t think we have to limit God to what we can understand with our minds, I do think that we would be wise to ask Him for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding related to the things He is doing. After all, God tells us to ask Him and He will tell us the answers (Jeremiah 33:3). I believe that God wants us to remember the miracles of the past and not let current failings harden our hearts to the things of the future, but I believe God also wants us to walk in wisdom as we administrate His power in signs and wonders.

Toward that end, I have written and published two books of what is eventually going to be a 6-book series on different kinds of miracle manifestations. In each book I discuss the miracle itself, what the Bible says about it, advice on how we can discern the situation wisely, and how we can partner with God to see these wonders in our own lives. The two currently published are Gemstones From Heaven and Feathers From Heaven, available on Amazon, with additional books on oil, manna, gold, and radiance miracles in various stages of being written (I am taking testimony submissions for those books—email me at thekingsofeden@gmail.com). You can also find more goodies under the “Signs, Wonders, & Miracles category” on this website.

Unmasking the Lie of Premature Death

Raising the dead is an un-touchy subject—in that most people don’t want to touch it.  For those of us who aren’t afraid to engage what Jesus commanded us to do, there are a lot of theological roadblocks that often get tossed in our way.  A few of the more prevalent ones are “Is it God’s will?”, “Is it the will of the deceased to be raised?”, “Are they unsaved?” (as though we should only raise them if they are, and if they are saved then let them go).  All of those have very rationed, biblical answers (all of which end with “be obedient and raise the dead).  We’re going to tackle a different one today, unmasking the lie of premature death.

There is a belief out there that says “It’s okay to die, but only if it is not premature.”  The other side of that coin is “We are only supposed to raise the dead when it is premature death, and the rest of the time we should let them go.”

What even is premature death?

In theory, premature death is when someone dies before their “appointed time”—so let’s look at that.  What does the Bible say about our appointed time to die?  Scripturally speaking, the notion that any of us have an appointed time to die comes from Hebrews 9:27-28 which says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”  Now, when read in-context this passage is saying that Jesus died once for us, as us, in place of us to bear all of our sin.  However, most people like to quote verses 27 without the second half of the sentence (v27 ends with the word “judgment”) and in so doing entirely skew the meaning.  For believers, we did die once, already, through Christ in baptism (Romans 6:1-7 elaborates on this quite clearly).  So even if we ignore the context of this passage and just focus on the “appointed time to die”, as a result of Jesus’ sacrifice we no longer have an appointed time to die—as Jesus already took our appointment.

Furthermore, the entire “appointed time to die,” scripturally speaking, has always been in context of the wages of sin being death (Romans 6:23), not that God needs us to die in order to exit the earth.  Nevertheless, people still like to believe that we are required to die, and incorrectly use Hebrews 9:27 as their proof-text.  The other references that are less-commonly used, those of Ecclesiastes 3:2 and Psalm 90:10, are based on the writers’ observations about the lives of people, much like how a scientist would observe things and then write down what they saw.  Those passages are not a prophetic pronouncement about what all humankind is destined for, but simply a recording of observations.  In fact, the entire book of Ecclesiastes is written from the context of Solomon sharing his earthly observations and temporal wisdom, not that of a divine seer who has delved into the mysteries of God.

How do we know if someone died prematurely?

Normally, the notion is that someone has had a premature death if they died young.  And if you thought “wow, that’s pretty ambiguous,” that’s because it is.

Profoundly ambiguous.

Most people who believe there is a “time to die” apply it to situations in an extremely illogical manner.  They pretty consistently say that if someone is young then it wasn’t their time and if they are old (which usually means 65 or older), then it probably was their time to go.  This entire idea is illogical in nature, not to mention incredibly arrogant.  I mean, who is the person who gets to decide whether it was “someone’s time” or not? It’s pretty arrogant to think that we get to decide when it is other people’s time to die. When Job, in his arrogance, was accusing God of not being just, do you know what God’s response was?

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:1-7)

God did nothing for two whole chapters except throw questions at Job that he was incapable of answering because he was a human with the limited knowledge, power, and capacity that humans have, and not the Almighty Creator-God of the Cosmos.  God basically spent His time saying “And who exactly do you think you are??”

Once we start breaking down the “time to die” concept, it is applied in an incredibly arbitrary manner based completely on supposition and not on some sort of knowable information that can be consistently applied.  In fact, it is pagan belief systems that believe our life-length is determinable, not Christianity.  For example, in Greek mythology, the Fates (or Norns in Norse mythology) determine the length of your life by spinning a string, your “life line”, and when they decide your string gets cut, you die.  It is entirely arbitrary based on whatever those god-beings feel like at that time, and if they feel like cutting you off in your twenties, they are fully within their rights and powers to do so.  Good thing we don’t belong to their kingdom!

What does the Bible say about death and age?

If we wanted to know what the Bible says about death and age, we would find it says the opposite of most people’s beliefs on the subject.  According to 2 Timothy 1:10, God has abolished death in Christ.  Abolished it!  It is no longer legal.  Romans 8 goes into great length to explain that we no longer live under the law of sin and death but rather the law of the spirit of life.  As explained above, the OT verses that refer to a “time to die” are not pronouncements of that-which-shall-be, but scientific human observations of what they saw happening around them.  In fact, there is a prophecy that is a pronouncement of things to come which states:

“Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed. They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people . . . (Isaiah 65:20-22a)

The prophet Isaiah foresaw a day when death would be extremely uncommon, as people would be living multiples of hundreds of years long at minimum.  Furthermore, this falls entirely in line with the teachings of Jesus.  There are numerous verses in scripture that speak of this reality of long-life, but that isn’t all.  There are many verses where Jesus explained that those who followed him would, in fact, never die (John 6:50, 51, 54, John 8:51, John 10:10, 28, John 11:26).  Actually, get this.  Do you realize that the most-quoted verse in the entire Bible speaks of this?  John 3:16 says, “God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believed in him would not die but would live forever (emphasis mine).”  John 3:16 literally states that we are not supposed to die!!

So what should our response to all of this be?

Honestly, it’s quite simple.  All death is “premature death” because according to scripture, we aren’t supposed to die.  John 10:10 says that it is the enemy who brings death, and 1 Corinthians 15:26 also refers to death as God’s enemy.  If we truly believe what the Bible says, the only response we can have to death, regardless of age, is one thing:

Raise the dead.

Don’t complicate Jesus’ simple command in Matthew 10:8 and add provisos or conditions such as premature death, if the person wants to come back, or any of the other highly spiritual-sounding but highly religious and extremely disobedient excuses people come up with.  If we truly want to do the will of God, then it is time to move past the lie of premature death and simply be obedient to Jesus’ command to raise the dead.

If you are interested in learning more about how to step out in faith and raise the dead, I recommend the following:

  1. Read my book Faith to Raise the Dead and Tyler Johnson’s book How to Raise the Dead, or for a quick-reference guide, grab a copy of Practical Keys to Raise the Dead.
  2. Attend a training with the Dead Raising Teams led by Tyler Johnson of One Glance Ministries.
  3. If unable to attend in person, buy his School of Resurrection audio series, invite some friends over, and have your own virtual DRT training.
  4. Start looking for opportunities to pray to raise the dead.  As you put yourself out there, opportunities will open up to you (pets included!).

Understanding Spiritual Laws and Forces: The Paper Airplane Model

Many people wonder why prayers don’t get answered in the time or way they are asking. Other times, people have listened to a preacher state a single “guaranteed” method to have prayers answered, but when put into practice, they only work a small portion of the time. There are a number of reasons for this, but I think they are best explained through an example I was telling my wife the other day: the example of throwing a paper airplane.

Throwing a paper airplane seems like an incredibly simple process:   You fold it, you throw it, done.

Yet, if you think about all the variables and factors that go into how that airplane flies, it is much more complex than it first appears.
In order to throw a paper airplane, there first has to be a paper airplane. The airplane could be made with a variety of sizes and thicknesses of paper, each of which has its own weight. There are a variety of airplane designs that involve folding the paper different ways to arrive at a flying object, and while each is unique in its appearance and design, all of them are still paper airplanes. To add even more variation, while it doesn’t influence the function of the object, the airplane could be a wide range of colors or designs as well.

Once the paper airplane is folded, it is now time to throw it. While this seems straightforward, there are many things that influence how it flies. Aerodynamics of the plane design show their influence here as both lift and drag exert their influences. Then there’s the force used to throw the object, which is gradually slowed by friction in the air but the momentum behind the plane works to counteract that. Gravity is part of drag that works to bring the plane down to the ground, but that doesn’t fully account for the level of atmospheric pressure exerted when at sea level versus a higher elevation, meaning that at different elevations, the pull gravity exerts is different. Furthermore, there are other external factors such as wind speed and direction that will influence the airplane’s flight.

So how does all of this relate to spiritual laws and answered prayers?? First, let’s take the example of the airplane and pretend it is the person. Each person is designed uniquely by God, and each of us are wired to function optimally in certain ways. The reason personality profile tests work is because there are still main “types” of people, but at the end of the day no two people are fully alike. This is exactly like making a paper airplane. Paper size, shape, thickness, and even color are like the differences between people and personalities, but there is more. Each of us have different life encounters which also cause us to have different beliefs and inner wounds. We each have certain areas where we either understand or misunderstand God’s nature, our nature, and that of the world around us. There is the influence that our spirit and soul exert on various aspects of our lives as well. These are like the differences in the paper and folding of the airplane. Those unique perspectives (whether healthy or unhealthy) and subsequent inner soul and spiritual influence, shape who we are and how we interact with the outside world, and, akin to the flight of a paper airplane, they affect how spiritual laws influence us as well.

Now let us bring in external forces: demonic resistance and the curses of others, angelic assistance and the prayers of others, and bloodline blessings and iniquity, all of which influence how, when, and if prayers get answered. There is our faith, the faith of other people praying in that situation as well, as well as our and their doubt and unbelief. There are regional atmospheres influenced in part by angels and demons and other spirit beings but also by the collective consciousness of the people living in that region.

Then there are other spiritual laws such as sowing and reaping, focus, honor, impartation, blessing, and more. All of these various factors act upon us simultaneously, and each one exerts its own influence on how, when, and if our prayers get answered. It is only when we don’t understand that there are multiple factors at play and do things to actively enhance or mitigate their effects that we lose out.

With a paper airplane, we can do something that adds weight (usually a paperclip) to help it fly better/longer, we can increase the force of the throw, move somewhere without wind or turn so we are throwing with the wind current, and stand on a higher elevation so it takes longer to reach the ground. Each of these actions address some of the opposing forces that negatively influence the paper airplane’s flight. Likewise, when we understand the various spiritual laws and spiritual forces at work in our lives, we can make conscious choices that promote the outcomes we desire. Both inner healing and mind renewal decrease the ability of demons to influence us. They also can decrease doubt and help enhance our faith. As we pray to engage the angelic host and bind demonic forces, we will experience a greater measure of spiritual assistance. As we sow with our thoughts, words, and actions over time we will reap the benefits of those choices as well. If we gather in a group with others, we can purposefully extend a targeted influence over a certain situation, problem, etc. that affects our region and that is influenced by regional collective consciousness, shifting the atmosphere our way. All of these are examples of a great number of things that can be done to influence prayers and outcomes in our lives, but it all boils down to a simple concept: At the end of the day, our input decides the output and if we want a different outcome, we need different input.

As we change the input coming through our lives toward heaven, then the output of heaven toward us will alter accordingly.

Destroying Entropy: The Power of the Gospel

[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.22″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.25″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.25″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.10.8″ text_font_size=”16px” background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]

I was talking with a coworker last night and somehow we got onto the subject of Christianity. He made a statement that Christianity is here to teach us to have a good moral compass. Since that has little to nothing to do with what Christianity is actually about, I politely disagreed with him and explained what it is actually about. The conversation looked a little like this:

Coworker: “Christianity is good for us because it helps people develop a strong moral compass.”
Me: “Christianity isn’t really about morality, although that is a side-result. If you read the entire Bible from beginning to end and look at it from the context that Jesus came to destroy death, it will make a lot more sense.”
Coworker: “That would be nice if that actually worked, but everyone dies. Entropy can’t be reversed.”
Me: “That’s my point though. The purpose of Christianity is to reverse entropy. Jesus didn’t come to teach moral law, although at times he did discuss it, but to supersede natural laws through divine power. His entire goal was to completely reverse entropy.”
Coworker: “If that’s true, that’s some multidimensional s**t!”
Me: “Yes, that’s exactly what it is.”

For this to make sense, it helps to know what entropy is. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word Entropy has a few basic definitions:

“1. The degree of disorder or uncertainty in a system
2. The degradation of the matter and energy in the universe to an ultimate state of inert uniformity and/or a process of degradation or running down or a trend to disorder.”

Ultimately, it means that in regards to the universe we live in, that everything is gradually decaying and degrading into a chaotic mess.

The primary mission of Jesus as expressed in the Bible is actually about destroying death and releasing everyone and everything from the power of death. God warned Adam about it in Genesis 3 quite clearly. John 3:16 states it plainly. Jesus explained his purpose again in John 10:10, and if none of that was clear enough, Paul explained in 1 Corinthians 15 that death was an enemy that will be destroyed, and again in Romans 8 that it is our job to remove the decay from the universe.

Think about it. If entropy is the process of decay and it is our job to wipe out all death, decay, destruction, and loss so that the earth realm functions in the same manner that heaven does, then the gospel empowers us to reverse entropy. I mean, what is raising the dead other than counteracting the laws of death and decay? What is healing the sick or multiplying bread or turning water to wine other than stepping above natural laws to make them function far differently than the failing system of this universe would push them toward? It is clear even in scripture that our universe is headed toward decay, but equally clear is the fact that the gospel is the power of life to those who are perishing, and we have been gifted the power and given the responsibility to reverse that entropic decay once and for all in and through the power of Jesus Christ.

Do You Believe The Radical Simple Gospel?

[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.22″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.25″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.10.8″ text_font_size=”13px” global_colors_info=”{}”]

I was out with family at a lunch the other day, and as we began discussing something Bible-related, somehow the subject of Jesus and never dying came up. I forget exactly how it came up, but someone commented on my belief that we aren’t supposed to die, and how it’s a new one. Nothing about it is new, as Jesus spoke on the subject quite plainly multiple times in scripture (John 6 and 8 to name a few). Paul spoke somewhat clearly on it as well, to the point that 2 Timothy 1:10-11 specifically states “the gospel of life and immortality of which I have been appointed an apostle, teacher, and preacher”. Paul clearly identifies his job as a teacher and forerunner of the gospel of life and immortality. In reality, this gospel message that Jesus and Paul preached is radical yet simple.

While chatting with my family at this restaurant, it really hit me just how radical Jesus was for his day. Think about it. In John 11, Jesus and Martha had a discussion about the “Last Day Resurrection”. An end-times resurrection isn’t actually a new belief from Christianity—it was a common belief of the Jews of Jesus’ day. So what made Jesus so radical? His reply.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’
Martha answered, ‘I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.’
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'” (John 11:23-26)

When Martha and Jesus discussed Lazarus’s death, she referenced a Last-Day resurrection, but Jesus didn’t go along with her comments. He said something so radical that the people of his day just didn’t understand. Jesus said that whoever believed in him wouldn’t even need a last-day resurrection because they would simply never die in the first place. Most of the Church today still doesn’t get it. Most of us are still in Martha’s shoes and waiting for and End Times resurrection, not realizing that Jesus died and rose again so that we who believe in him would never physically die.

Jesus was extreme for his time in many ways. He called himself a “son of God”, elevating himself to godhood status (the son of a horse is a horse, the son of a God is a god). He told his disciples to forgive endlessly (seventy-times-seven) and to offer to do extra work for Roman soldiers when forced to do a little. He told people he would tear down and rebuild the temple in three days, and that he would come back to life after he died. Jesus was a radical guy. But the most radical thing he said of all the many extreme things he said was that we could live forever without dying.

Two thousand years of church history later, we are just beginning to re-emerge on this concept that has been buried in plain sight in the scriptures for centuries. Scholar upon scholar has studied verses such as John 3:16 that literally states that “whoever believed in him would not die but live forever”, and somehow arrived at a different, more esoteric meaning to the verse instead of the one that is plainly stated. God is reforming the Church, and the result is that we have stumbled across “cutting-edge” beliefs such as immortality . . . beliefs that have been plainly stated in the scriptures for generations upon generations. Yet, for whatever reason, God is now removing the veil that has covered the eyes of His people for so many years, and we are beginning to grasp again the simple revelation of the gospel—that we can live and not die.

Provoking Faith For The Impossible

Back in the early 2000’s I first heard about gemstones appearing supernaturally from heaven, brought in some cases by angels. I began to ask the Lord to let me experience this miracle myself. Roughly ten years later, in 2013, I was blessed to begin to experience gemstones appearing from heaven for myself, and it has sent me on a journey of further provoking faith for the impossible.

Since my book Gemstones From Heaven was first published in August of 2015, I have continued to pursue these types of miracles to chronicle them in my God Signs book series. The second book in the series, Feathers from Heaven, was published a year later in August of 2016, and shares scriptures, stories, and my own encounters with this particular heavenly manifestation. I have other books in the series on gold and gold dust, heavenly oil, and manna from heaven that are all in various stages of being written.

While it might seem a fruitless pursuit to some, and one that takes people’s focus off of Jesus, I have a different perspective. I believe that through enjoying and engaging the gifts that He gives us, God provokes us to have faith for the impossible.

A friend once shared a dream with me, and in this dream, she and a group of people were in a period of economic hardship and religious persecution. They took the gemstones they had received supernaturally and used them to trade for things they needed. When I say “trade”, they weren’t bartering with other humans—they were trading with heaven. The gemstones were the “evidence of things hoped for and substance of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)”, and in the dream, they used these miracle jewels to access heaven’s supply in their times of need.

I believe that when we engage our faith for the impossible, we become better equipped to manifest God’s solutions into the practical problems of this world. In fact, I believe that almost all miracles are practical and are meant to solve problems and that our faith plays a major role in miracles being released into the earth.

Right now in Georgia, there is a bible that is flowing with oil. It began over a year ago, and thousands of vials of oil have been given to those who are hungry for God to move in their lives. While the oil itself is not a mystical object with special powers, it is appearing miraculously, and that oil is being used to anoint people and pray over them, and many are getting healed. Multiple accounts of cancers being healed have even been reported. You can read more about the oil here and watch a compilation of videos on the subject here. God is using this oil miracle to enliven the faith of His people, and as a result, they are believing God for the impossible, and are seeing the impossible happen.

Sometimes it seems silly to believe for seemingly-impossible things, but when the impossible starts to actually happen, something changes inside of us. When we step out in faith, our faith grows. The parable of the mustard seed of faith wasn’t about having little to no faith—it was about a growth process to expand our faith.

Personally, I have been praying for years for leaves from the tree of life. Think about what that would look like. Imagine being in a church meeting, or even in a Bible study in someone’s home, and beautiful leaves begin to float down from the ceiling or appear on the surfaces around you, and a sweet aroma fills the air. As you pick up one of these leaves, the allergies that have been plaguing you evaporate, and the nagging nerve pain in your low back vanishes instantly. Imagine bringing a leaf home to your sick spouse, who hasn’t spent a pain-free day in years. He or she takes it gently in their hands, and as they hold it, you see the lines of tension on their face soften, and fade away. They get up and start doing things they haven’t been able to do in years, and laughter begins to fill the house once again. This seems far-fetched to some, but Revelation 22:2 says that, “. . . the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.” Nations are made up of large quantities of people, so leaves that are meant to heal the nations are made for you and me.

Bread and manna miracles in the Bible were an act of God’s provision for His people. Jesus changed the water to wine to provide for people. When the jar flowed with oil supernaturally in 2 Kings 4, it was to provide for God’s people. When Moses struck the rock and it flowed with water, that again was the provision of God for His chosen ones. God wants us to experience miracles, and He is doing it on purpose as a way of provoking faith for the impossible. After all, if we can believe that leaves or feathers or jewels will appear supernaturally, is it really that hard for God to fix a marriage, or finances, addition problems, or incurable diseases? It’s time for us to raise the bar of our faith a bit higher and believe for the impossible.

A Bible Flowing With Oil: The Miracle in Dalton, Georgia

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”16″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Some of you may have already heard about the Bible in Georgia that is literally dripping, leaking, and producing oil.  This miracle began on January 27rd of 2017 after an intense time of prayer in the Lord’s presence a few days prior, and has continued for almost 2 years.  Many people have been healed, saved, delivered, and set free from all kinds of afflictions after witnessing this miracle or being prayed for and anointed with the oil coming from this Bible.  People have so many reactions, ranging from awe, wonder, and worship of God to skepticism, doubt, and even anger at what they refer to as “false signs and wonders.”  In this day and age, we must learn to operate in a deeper level of discernment in what the Lord is doing, so I want to share with you a few details about how the oil began appearing to this group and four of the things the Scriptures reveal to us about this miracle oil.

Author’s Note:  (The Kings of Eden is not affiliated with His Name Is Flowing Oil, so please don’t ask us for oil—we don’t have or own the Bible or any of the oil and cannot send you any or respond to requests asking for oil),

The miracle of oil was birthed out of prayer, much how most miracles and moves of God are.  Jerry and his wife, the owners of the Bible, had been meeting with five other people for over two years to pray for one another and spend time in worship and fellowship.  They met in a small store, Grace 251, located on 111 W Gordon Street in Dalton, Georgia.  After two years of prayer, the Lord told them in November of 2016 that after the inauguration, that He would reveal to them what He was doing.  It was January 27th, one week to the day after the inauguration that the supernatural oil began to appear.  The oil itself began appearing in the Bible at Psalms 39.  The center of the page was wet, but because their grandbaby was at the house, the wife checked to make sure nothing had spilled on it.  When they investigated further, they agreed that it was oil, and not from any identifiable source.  As the oil continued to accumulate, it was placed in a re-sealable plastic bag, and in three weeks it saturated from Psalms all the way to the back of the book, through Revelation and the concordance, while the front half was still dry.  Then, get this:  Genesis began to get wet, and it soaked its way back through the Bible until it reached Psalms again.  As of mid August last year (2017), they had moved it to their fourth container, as none of them had been large enough to contain the oil.

As they began to pray about this miracle, the Lord told them that as long as they continued to give the oil away for free, God would continue to replenish it and ensure it continued to flow.  To date, they have given away tens of thousands of vials of this oil, reaching over 50,000 vials of oil last year alone—all appearing supernaturally by God’s grace from a single Bible.  I spoke on the phone once with Jerry, the husband of the couple who own the Bible, and he was very down-to-earth, humble, and took no credit for the miracle.  He and those around him were very clear that this was the Lord’s doing in their midst, and that while they had been praying for God to come, and He had been revealing Himself, they had no idea what He had planned for them.  However, the appearance of this Bible flowing with oil has sparked a literal revival in that region, and many have been touched by the power of God released through this oil.  Marriages have been restored, people have been healed, and as of when we spoke, there had been four documented cases of stage 3 and 4 cancer being healed.  They have been mailing the oil out all around the world for free, but currently, due to the high demand of oil, they are not able to give the oil away outside of the meetings they are hosting and/or invited to.  If you want to learn more about their itinerary, events, etc. you can find them at HisNameIsFlowingOil.org

This miracle is an amazing testimony to God’s creative power, but what could it possibly mean?  Why would God do something like this?  The Bible has a lot of things to say about oil—far more, in fact, than one might imagine at first glance.

The Holy Spirit

First, oil represents the Holy Spirit.  We see this clearly in Isaiah 61:1 which says, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me . . .”  The Holy Spirit rests upon Him in that verse because he has been anointed.  Anointing is an act where someone rubs or smears oil on someone, so here it is clear that as a direct result of God anointing him with oil, the Holy Spirit remains on him.  Acts 10:38 expressing this same concept:  ” . . . how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.”  Jesus wasn’t just anointed with oil—he was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power.  This same connection is further represented in the life of the disciples when Jesus informed them the same would happen to them, saying “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  The same anointing by the same Holy Spirit that Jesus received, He informed the disciples that they, too, would receive—and this extends to all those who are followers of the Lord Jesus, even to this day.  Supernatural oil from heaven points to the active work of the Holy Spirit in our lives—His infilling, indwelling nature.  Likewise, when one is anointed with heavenly oil, it is a visible prophetic action demonstrating an invisible spiritual reality.

Divine Healing

The oil secondarily represents healing.  The most well-known passage that shows us this is James 5:14-15, which says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” While this verse points to the prayer offered in faith as the thing that brings the healing, the oil is connected with the act of prayer.  Some denominations, most specifically the Catholics, Anglicans and Episcopalians, consider this to be a Sacrament, an outward and visible sign of an inward, spiritual grace or blessing.  Others look at this passage from a more historical perspective, speculating that the oil was used primarily as medicine—a direct means of healing.  Regardless of which one considers this to be, or maybe one believes it is both and yet more, healing is closely associated with oil in the Bible.  How much moreso should heavenly oil be associated with the same?

Some other verses that show oil as a medium for healing include Isaiah 1:6 and  Ezekiel 16:9:

Isaiah 1:6
From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness—only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with olive oil.

Ezekiel 16:9
“‘I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you. . . “

Intercession

A third thing the heavenly oil speaks of is intercessory prayer.  We see a lesson in ongoing intercession found in Leviticus 24:1-3:  “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.  Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the Lord from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.'”  The oil is to be tended continually so the lamps are always kept burning.  The significance here is that oil can represent ongoing intercession, day and night before the Throne in heaven.  In Revelation 5:8 we see the 24 elders bowing before the Throne holding golden bowls of incense, which the passage explains, saying: “And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”  There is clear and significant prophetic linkage between the book of Revelation and the ordinances of the Tent of Meeting and later the Temple.  If prayers can be likened to the burning of an aromatic substance, which it could be argued is symbolic not just of incense but of oil as a whole, then there is a connection between tending the lamps continually and ongoing intercession.

Intimacy

The fourth message of the oil is that of intimacy.  Oils, also used as perfumes and spices, have been used for thousands of years to create sweet smells, and are often used even today in intimate creams and oils for use among married couples.  We see this sentiment expressed multiple places in Scripture:

Proverbs 7:16-18
I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt.  I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.  Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning; let’s enjoy ourselves with love!

Song of Songs 1:3
Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you!

Song of Songs 1:12-13
While the king was at his table, my perfume spread its fragrance.  My beloved is to me a sachet of myrrh, resting between my breasts.

Song of Songs 3:6
Who is this coming up from the wilderness like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and incense made from all the spices of the merchant?

Song of Songs 4:10
How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume more than any spice!

Song of Songs 5:13
His cheeks are like beds of spice yielding perfume. His lips are like lilies dripping with myrrh.

Intimacy is a key message of supernatural oil because God wants to be together with us.  After all, one of His names is Emmanuel which literally means “God with us.”  God’s desire is, has been, and always will be to be unified with us.  Jesus gave his life on the cross, died, and rose again so that we could be united in Him.  Ephesians 1:7-10 shows us this, saying, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,  he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”  The word translated as “unity” in this passage is the Greek word anakephalaioō which means “to gather together into one”.  It is through the redemption brought us through the blood of Jesus that we can be gathered together into one.

Intimacy is the cornerstone of our relationship with God.  Jesus said this in somewhat plain terms to his disciples on Passover, the night before He was crucified.  In John 14:2-3 he said, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  While this might not seem extremely clear, it was very plain speech Jesus was using.  The key, however, is that one has to understand Jewish wedding customs for it to make sense.  In ancient Jewish culture, when a young man wanted to get married, he would build an addition to the family house.  The man would go and prepare that room in his father’s house, and was required to fill it with as many niceties and lavish belongings as he could afford to ensure the new wife would be comfortable in her future home.  If one will recall, they often got married in their teens, so the man was actually a fairly young man, and it was somewhat sensible that an older adult was responsible for ensuring the process was done properly.  Once the groom’s father felt the groom had sufficiently prepared the room, he would allow his son to go and bring his betrothed to come live with them, and the wedding would commence.  This paints a totally different picture of intimacy and love than one initially would read from that passage.

The twelve disciples Jesus called were mostly young men, so this wedding-language was extremely close to home.  In fact, the scriptures show us Peter was married already, so had undergone this very process sometime in the past!  Jesus wanted them to know that He was deeply in love with them, and wanted them to understand the depths of love He had not just for them, but for all of us!  The Father and the Son are working together with the Holy Spirit to prepare a place for us to come and be with them, and the miracle of heavenly oil is a sign of the intimacy and love they have for us.  How amazing is that?

The miracle of supernatural oil in Dalton, Georgia is not only astounding, but it reveals to us God’s heart for us to be in communion with Him:  to know and be filled by the Holy Spirit, to receive healing from Him and Him alone, the source of all life, and for His desire to engage in deeper intimacy with us on an ongoing basis.  One of the things the Lord specifically revealed to the group in Dalton, upon which they based the name of their ministry, is out of Song of Songs 1:3; ” . . .your name is flowing oil” . . .  The Lord showed them that the physical manifestation of miracle oil represents God’s holy presence.  I encourage you, as you read this, to seek the Lord about how He wants to touch you with His Spirit, Healing, and Intimate Love revealed through His presence and through this miracle of flowing oil.  If you are able to travel or live nearby, I encourage you to attend one of the services (event schedule here) and see what God is doing through this miracle.  If you do, come back and share in the comments what you heard, saw, and experienced!  I pray that each of you is blessed with an overflowing measure of God’s power and presence in your life, and that you, too, will experience this miracle oil in your own life.  Amen.

*Please note I DO NOT own the Bible nor possess the Dalton oil to be able to give to anyone.  If you write me asking for oil, I can’t send you any and I also cannot respond, as I get deluged with requests for something I do not possess.  You will have to attend their events or follow the instructions on their website, HisNameIsFlowingOil.org

Seeing In The Spirit To Release Physical Healing

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”16″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

A couple of months ago my wife and I got a gym membership after talking about it for over a year.  While our fitness goals differ, we have gone faithfully each week for the past few months to enhance our health primarily through swimming.  Well, Sunshine took a big hit this past week when her back went out on her.  The cause is unclear, but when it was time to go to our next “gym appointment” we decided to go anyway—me to work out and her to gently rehab her back in the pool.  After I finished swimming however-many laps (I find it too hard to count so don’t bother), we were slowly going up and down a lane together chatting when she asked me “You know thing where you look at people’s physical bodies and see what is wrong with them?  Can you do that for me?”

I proceeded to look at her back in the spirit and saw this strange-looking thing that was a bit like a combination between a black eel, a pair of those tongs they used back in the day to pick up blocks of ice, and one of those black spiked collars you might put on your junkyard guard dog.  It had lodged itself in her back at the location/level of the vertebrae where she felt the pain and tightness.  Anyway, I hadn’t even prayed yet, as I was silently looking in the spirit to see what I could observe, but while I did she felt something lift off her shoulders and was like “Wow, that’s amazing! It feels better already!”  I didn’t tell her that I hadn’t even prayed yet.  I’m guessing an angel must have taken care of it, but I don’t really know.  Next, I told her what I saw and pulled it off of her back.  Then I told her to see how it felt.  No joke, she was twisting and turning with a significant increase in range of motion compared to thirty seconds prior.  She wasn’t totally healed at that moment, as she ended up having more issues later on that night, but the immediate change was substantial.  As I thought about it later, I wanted to share this story on the blog because I think it will help a lot of people.

I have touched on this subject before, in my article “Healing With The Seer Gift”, but in short I look in the spirit at the person or problem I am trying to “diagnose”, and as I do that I start having visions about the nature of the problem.  In my wife’s case it was a demonic entity of some kind, but sometimes I will see colors instead of beings.  Other times I will see objects, spiritual or psychic devices of some kind that are influencing the area in question.  Once, my wife was telling me about a headache she was having and said “it feels like there is a nail in my eye.”  I simply reached out toward her face, acted like I was pulling a nail out of her eye, and the headache left immediately.  The reason she felt like there was a nail in her eye is because there was a nail in her eye—just not a physical, tangible one.

I think sometimes we forget that the unseen realms are in fact very real.  My grandfather once had a ceremonial African mask hanging on his wall at his house.  I told him about the demon I saw sitting on top of it (it looked like a big black chameleon and it hissed at me), and he basically didn’t believe me.  My reply to him is key to this subject.  I said, “Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean I can’t see it, and it doesn’t make it not there.”  The unseen realms are all around us, and our inability to perceive them doesn’t make them go away.  If a demon or witch or whomever drives a spiritual nail in someone’s eye, it will remain there until it gets removed, either by us or an angel.  In the same way the physical realm has object permanence, so do the spirit realms.  The gifts of the spirit are part of our tool-kit that help us to interact with these invisible realms, but many times people don’t know they can activate those senses on their own, at will, and when they do, they don’t always know what to do with what they see.

Some of it is trial and error, but a big part of it is being led and guided by Holy Spirit.  As I have dealt with spiritual objects, spirits, and more over the years I have learned a few things, but I still have to ask Him sometimes what to do in a situation.  Following His lead is the first key to using this ability to heal.

The next thing we have to recognize is that when we act something out we aren’t just playing make-believe.  Our imaginations aren’t just a pretend thing.  The way we interact with the spirit realms is through our desire, intention, and belief.  Our imagination is actually a vehicle that puts our belief into action.  In other words, when we imagine something, we are using our power as co-creators with God to actually create that very thing.  When I “imagine” myself pulling a demon off my wife’s back, I’m not just playing make-believe—I am activating my spiritual abilities to actually pull a demon off my wife’s back.  While some find this hard to swallow, the proof is in the fruit.  If it didn’t work, and I really was just pretending, my wife’s back would have had no change at all.  Sure, someone could argue that my pretending activated her faith to believe it was better, but that doesn’t usually work when the problem is a demon, because they will fight back against you, and in a situation like this where the faith is supposedly “make believe” to begin with, how would that force a demon to leave?  No, in pulling the spirit off of her back, I was making use of my authority as a son of God to do what Jesus said we could do in Luke 10:19, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

The third thing we have to do (in no particular order) is engage the angels.  Whether we do it by speaking to them directly, praying to God to have them do something, commanding a thing to change, or simply praying to God for a situation to get fixed, all of these are valid ways we can engage angelic assistance.  Everyone has ideas about which of the above options are permissible for the believer.  Instead of arguing with others over what we are allowed or not allowed to do, just pick the one that fits for you and move forward.  Get angels involved in the situation.  They are ministering spirits sent to us to minister salvation (Hebrews 1:14)—the saving, healing, delivering power of God.

Seeing in the spirit is an incredible key to helping physical healing manifest when we pray, and it works for emotional healing too!  Not everyone is automatically gifted in this area, but it is a skill that anyone can learn.  Some may have it easier than others, but to say that one is incapable of seeing in the spirit is like saying some people get born with eyes.  While that may happen in real life in a rare case, I assure you that the person’s DNA contains the information on how to make eyes, but something got messed up along the way.  Likewise, your spirit-body has eyes (Ephesians 1:18), and if it doesn’t for some weird reason, then it’s something God needs to heal and fix, not a handicap to live with.  I have learned over time and through practice to both see and hear in the spirit, and I personally think that every believer needs to have both skills trained through regular use.  The enemy wants to block our ability to perceive what God is doing in any and every situation, and sometimes if I am unable to see clearly, I can hear God speaking to me.  If I can’t hear Him, sometimes I will have a vision.  If neither work, sometimes I will have this inner-knowing, a perception of some kind, about what to do.  I encourage everyone to train your spiritual senses so that you can hear God, do what He is doing, and manifest the life of Christ Jesus on the earth.  And who knows?  Maybe the next time you have back pain, or a headache, or some other ailment, you will remember about this article, take a look to see what the problem is, and discover that this really does work.  Don’t just take my word for it—try it for yourself and see what happens!

Pleasure In Miracles

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”16″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Recently the Lord has been challenging me and my beliefs about what He will and won’t do, and more specifically what He will and won’t do for me personally.  I watched a video this past week about some friends of mine who have been receiving bread supernaturally from heaven, and who have sealed bottles of water turn into wine.  This has been going on for a few years now, but while I enjoyed the video itself, I found myself getting hungry for my own encounters like this experience.  Recognizing that God has done some amazing this both for and with them, I would like to have that happen too.

For those who are familiar with my writing, this may sound odd, as I have seen gemstones, feathers, and gold dust appear on numerous occasions.  I have written two books on the subjects, Gemstones From Heaven and Feathers From Heaven, and am working on the sequel, Oil From Heaven, which should be completed later this year.  Nevertheless, I have a hunger that is only growing in me to see the miraculous more and more.  In spite of what I have experienced, I have much more that I have yet to experience.  Furthermore, many of those things I have encountered have been temporary in some way.  For example, the last time I recall having a gemstone appear was probably a year or so ago.  While some might be saying “I’d be content with just one”, I’ll be honest, once it happens once you hunger for it again and again because it is just that spectacular.

Well, as I began praying about this, the Lord challenged me, saying “Your problem is that you don’t really believe I want to do it for you.”  Whoa.  That’s rough.

But it’s true.

In spite of the miracles I have seen to date, I have trouble believing it will happen again.  It’s not that I think God doesn’t want to do them for someone—its that I have trouble believing God wants to do them for me.  Why is that?  What singles me out as someone so special that God doesn’t want to perform the same works He performs for others for me too?  After all, the Bible says that God doesn’t show favoritism (Romans 2:11).  If He does something for on person, He will gladly do it for another.  So where is my problem then?

Clearly, deep down, I believe a lie about God’s nature, His love for me, and the good things He has for me.  So how do I change my thinking (ie. repent) and begin to believe what He actually wants to do?  I find that looking at the Scriptures is a good way to begin that process.  What do they actually say?

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32).

The Bible says that it is God’s pleasure to give us the Kingdom.  Are miracles part of the Kingdom?  Certainly!  If so, then God takes pleasure in miracles and delights in giving them to us.  Are miracles “things”?  Certainly!  If so, then the Bible says that God will graciously give us miracles.  The word for “graciously” there is the Greek work charizomai which means:

-to do something pleasant or agreeable (to one), to do a favor to, gratify

-to show one’s self gracious, kind, benevolent

-to grant forgiveness, to pardon

-to give graciously, give freely, bestow

God takes pleasure in miracles.  He won’t just give them to us, but He will show himself kind and benevolent, freely bestowing them upon us!  Lack and limiting thinking must go, and be replaced with a revelation of God’s favor toward us.  In this process of pondering how I need to change my thinking, God brought my attention to his bread-miracles in the Bible.  Think about what God did in the Old Testament—He caused a bread-like substance, manna, to appear six days out of every seven, with a double-portion on the sixth day, in sufficient quantity to feed every single human in an entire nation of people for forty years!  When Jesus was speaking, he caused bread to appear that fed 4,000 to 5,000 men, not including women and children besides.  We call that multiplication, but at some point the “multiplied” bread had to appear supernaturally.  Is it really any different?

God wants us to experience miracles.  He wants me to experience miracles.  And He wants the same for you.  It is time to expand our thinking, raise our expectations, and transition to a deeper belief in the goodness and extravagance of God.  As we do this, I believe that we will move a step closer to experiencing the miraculous on a daily basis.

6 Keys To Seeing In The Spirit

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Seeing in the spirit is not as hard as people think.  The fact is that most people *already* see in the spirit, and simply don’t realize it.  Certainly there are those who have visions more than others, but it is a skill like any other, and anyone can learn how.  The following are ways I have found helpful to learn and grow in this area:  6 keys to seeing in the spirit.

1. Believe What You See

One of the most common things people do when they have a vision is doubt it—and doubt it immediately.  I do believe the demonic help with this by casting doubt into the situation, but when we think we see something, we have to give it a chance.  Everyone has those double-take moments where they look at something and look again because of what they *think they saw*.  Usually it ends up being something benign, like a person standing there on second glance is a coat hanging on a hook, or a strange looking animal is actually a gnarled tree stump.  Here’s a little secret:  whatever you thought you saw the first time, you *did* see—it was just a spiritual reality, so when you looked the second time, with your natural eyes, you didn’t see it anymore.  Whether a double-take or a vision in your mind’s eye, trust that you saw what you think you saw, and run with the revelation long enough to test it out and give it a chance.  If you do this, you will miss far less of what you are being shown.
– double-take for a reason, yes you actually saw it.  Confidence.

2. Look

In the book of Ezekiel, at the beginning of the book it often says “I looked and I saw. . . ”  Later on it has more “I saw”.  The key here is that he began by looking for things, and eventually he grew to a point where he would see whether he was looking or not.  It is possible to train yourself to see in the spirit, and trying to do so will generally yield better results more frequently.  Oftentimes people are waiting for visions to happen to them.  Go and happen to the vision.

3. Practice

Like any skill, practice makes one improve significantly.  When I first began to learn how to see in the spirit, I would take opportunities to practice this prophetic gift.  I would use almost any excuse to prophesy over people to practice getting visions, and I would spend time in worship and sitting in God’s presence simply to have more encounters.  Partly it was to enjoy Him, but another part of it was to hone my ability to see.  Find opportunities to practice seeing in the spirit, then go forward with expectation.

4. Engage The Power Of Testimonies

Talk to (and read about) encounters other people have had.  The Bible says that faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17).  When we hear the stories of others and their encounters, often they can help activate the gifts inside us and stir our faith to expect to have our own encounters.

5. Have Expectation

Expect visions.  Expect supernatural encounters.  Nothing about anyone else is *more* special than you, so if it can happen to someone else, it *will* happen to you.  You simply need to expect that it will, and by doing so engage the power of faith.

6. Receive

Understand this is an innate ability inherent within your makeup.  Simply receive that truth.  Don’t get yourself all worked up, striving to try to earn or hunt for this gift.  I wish I had known this back when I first learned to see in the spirit.  I spent a lot of time and energy trying to hunt down this spiritual gift because I didn’t understand that *I already had it.* I realized years later that I have seen in the spirit almost my entire life, and just didn’t know it!  It can be helpful at times to have others help activate that gift, but the fact is that the Holy Spirit, the Giver of the gifts, already lives in you.  You already have whatever you need, and don’t need someone else to make it “work” for you.  Just receive this truth by faith, and walk it out with expectation!
