Fairy Spirits and the Lamb of God – Part 2

In Part 1 we discussed the nature of mythical creatures, looking at whether or not they could be something a bit more than “just demons” as the typical Christian party line goes.  We also reviewed at how oral tradition shapes our understanding of real life events, and how that influences our current day beliefs.  You can read Part 1 here.

What do we need spirits to shepherd creation for?  Isn’t that our job?  Whether I sow or reap or plant or whatever, whether I watch it or not, a seed will grow without my help.  But will it grow well?  A mother can birth a baby without help, but will that labor go well?  Nature spirits are essentially the shepherds and midwives of the plant world.  They help plants, trees, and most likely even animals to grow and flourish.  Most often we as humans are busy with our own lives, not busy shepherding plant growth on a remote island or deep in the Amazon.  We appreciate that these plants grow on their own, but I believe they actually have God-created, God-ordained spiritual helpers.

Even so, what does the activity of Nature Spirits have anything to do with us humans?  What if we could work together with the Nature Spirits to help manifest the abundant life that Jesus came to deliver?  What if, in the same way we partner with angels, we could partner with these other spirits? When Jesus calmed the storm (Matthew 8:26, Mark 4:39), was he speaking to the actual storm, or to weather spirits controlling it?  What would happen if we as believers started interacting with the spirits that cause storms?  What if a group of believers risen up and successfully dealt with the spirits that caused Katrina—what might have happened?  If believers who understood the inner workings of the tectonic plates but also the spirits that govern the shifting of those plates had been able to work with them to slow the movement and do it in many smaller increments, maybe the catastrophic earthquakes and tsunami in Fukushima, Japan, back in 2011 could have been prevented.

Some of the big-ticket items that are planetary concerns include global warming, rainforest deforestation, forest fires, famines, and world hunger.  The world has turned to GMOs to find ‘better’ ways to produce crops that are resistant to blight, insects, poor environment, and pollution by altering the very fabric of created things.  They have turned real food into hybrid food that is half real, half laboratory.  Our bodies aren’t made to eat lab food.  We are concerned about our water supply, but then pollute it with oil spills, tanker accidents, trash, chemtrails, and fluoridate our water supply.  At some point, all of this tinkering with nature is going to bite us in the rear.  But what if there is a better way?  I believe that as we partner with these spirits that God has delegated the shepherding of creation to, we will see crops that grow bigger, faster, stronger, with fewer pests, rot, and disease, and will be able to feed far more people with the same number of plants due to higher fruit-bearing with greater nutrient density.  We would be able to regrow the rainforests, but faster than ever before.  We would still be able to use wood as a fuel source, but replenish it as fast as we used it instead of slowly depopulating our world’s trees.  It’s the kind of stuff in the Bible where God does above-and-beyond, and we usually call that stuff miracles, but what if there was a set of spirit-beings that govern some of that stuff that we have completely ignored?  I believe in the future we could possibly enter a time where we will need that super-growth of food.  The human population is on the rise, and a famine could do serious damage worldwide.  When the nations of the world are crying out in hunger, we will need to engage all of heaven’s resources, not just some of them.  I believe quite firmly that Jesus died, as Heidi Baker says, so we would always have enough.  I believe He is the solution to every problem this earth faces.  Yet I also understand that God has given us both spiritual power and spiritual wisdom.  Sure, we can multiply food.  But God also gave us every seed-bearing plant for food.  It’s not a matter of choosing one or the other—I think He wants us to do both.

And where is Jesus in all of this?  I think He is the same place He has always been—enthroned in our hearts.  Sometimes I think ideas like this can be threatening because it upends our worldview.  It changes what we think is possible, and sometimes it makes us look at things in new and uncomfortable ways.  In reality, I think this is one of the safest “new ideas” out there.  Why?  Because it doesn’t threaten or change a single thing about the gospel or the Bible.  It truly doesn’t.  In fact, it could make certain things in the Bible make more sense, not less.  I mean, what was Paul talking about when he spoke of Thrones and Dominions and Powers and all of those things?  Yes, many believe them to be a hierarchy of angels, but what if some of those beings are nature spirits?

At the end of the day, we have to use discernment for everything.  It doesn’t matter who or what the spirit says it is, we must discern wisely.  I have encountered some really freaktastically evil nature spirits, and some really awesome ones as well.  At the end of the day, discernment is always key.  Test the spirits.

One last radical thought—the Bible says that Israel will blossom and flower and bloom one day.  What if this was the answer? With nature working with you, you can grow literally anything anywhere, even in a desert.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I know I have a lot of the right questions.  At some point, we as the Body of Christ, the Church, can’t continue to ignore this subject forever.  I have seen these kinds of beings in the spirit for decades.  I have had people contact me privately to tell me stories they have never told anyone else about nature spirits they encountered simply because they didn’t know anyone else who wouldn’t think they were either crazy, a heretic, or demon possessed.  I recognize this isn’t necessarily the most popular subject to some, but I don’t think we do ourselves any favors by not discussing it.  So why not, here, why not now, why not us?  Over time God has put me in contact with people, mostly Believers, who each carry a piece of the puzzle.  I have been turned on to books here and there that have revealed new possibilities to me, new things to ask the Father about regarding this subject, and yet I think with all our wisdom and insight we understand so very little about the vast creation God made for us.  The secret things belong to the Lord, but the revealed things are for us and our descendants forevermore (Deuteronomy 29:29).  It’s time to seek out some of the mysteries of the Nature Kingdom and live in them.

Fairy Spirits and the Lamb of God – Part 1

Fairies.  Often know as the Fair Folk or the Tylwyth Teg or Little People, they have been the subject of many, well, fairy tales.  They are believed by most to be fiction, fabrication, just plain not real.  But are they fake?  If you think about it, we have tons of beliefs in the Christian world, especially those focused on end-times and related “strange” things about UFO’s, Nephilim, Aliens, Giants, and the like.  In fact, I have heard rumors that the main reason the public doesn’t know about a lot of that is due to government coverups from the various nations of the world.  In spite of all those other things, I don’t ever come across anything Christian about fairies. Or Elves.  or Unicorns.  Or vampires, fauns, werewolves, dryads, naiads, trolls, gnomes, pixies, brownies, dwarves, centaurs, wraiths, hags, ettins, flying horses, grass spirits, elementals, and the many, many, many others that I have simply not listed.  If there is so much out there about all of these “other” beings, why couldn’t fairies be real?  And what on earth does this have anything to do with followers of Jesus?  Let’s dive in and take a look at fairy spirits and the Lamb of God.

There are generally only two “Christian” camps in regards to beliefs and opinions about them:

1)  They’re not real.  End of discussion.
2)  If they are real (and if is as far as most will go), then they’re demons and that’s all there is to it.  End of discussion.

There are two problems with those options:
1) I don’t agree with either option
2) “They’re just demons” has never been a good enough answer for me (and I’m the one writing this article, so I win.)

Thus, I propose a third possibility.  What if God created them and we are going to interact with them by choice or by accident, so we might as well have a clue about them, what they’re about, and how to work with them?  To be clear, yes, some of the spirits in question are either demonic in nature or serve Satan although are not technically fallen angels.  We will look at them a bit more in a future article.

Think about this—many stories exist in almost all cultures regarding the activity of mysterious creatures that seem to roam the earth.  Some are dumb as rocks and others as intelligent as humans.  These creatures can be good or evil (which varies from creature to creature), seem to live parallel lives to ours, and only to coincide with ours on rare occasions.  That’s what the stories say, that is.  But I have another thought: what are now considered fables once began as a story from a woman or a man to their children by firelight.  Those tales were passed down through oral tradition while also spreading among people groups.  50 years later, dad’s story about meeting a little green man becomes a story of “your grandfather once met a little green man….”  Add a hundred years to that and it looks like “A long time ago, your ancestor met a little green man.”  Add even more degrees of separations and the tale has moved so far from the inception point that the story is “One day Fred met a little green man.”

What people have come to believe over time about that little green man is based almost entirely upon Fred’s encounter that many years ago.  But wait.  Fred met him, but others have met little green men over time as well.  And so the volume of stories about green men (or mermaids, or whomever) grows.  I think the reason so many stories about these beings exist is not because someone got bored one day and made up “Fred and the Green Man” (or mermaid, unicorn, etc.), but are based in at least some modicum of truth.  Sure, stories grow and change over time as people forget or change details in a centuries-long game of Whisper-Down-The-Lane, but the key elements are the same:  One day a guy met a not-guy, and it was considered significant enough to keep re-telling.

In reality, how different is that from the Bible?  We read about Adam and Eve, Noah, Enoch, and many others who existed long before the Israelites began to keep written records of anything.  At some point all of those stories were written down, and to this day they are told worldwide.  If those true stories were carried by means of oral tradition for centuries, how can we say with certainty that some of these other myths aren’t similar in some way?  After all, many different cultures have a flood story of some kind.  Coincidence?  I don’t believe in coincidences.  Furthermore, if you read the Bible, it’s mostly a collection of stories of peoples’ personal experiences, all of which revolve around the same theme—the God of the Bible sharing his love and interacting  with humanity.

Take it another step, and it’s not actually that big of a jump to say that something like fairies actually might exist.  I mean, we even find these sorts of characters in the Bible.  Think about it.  Ezekiel watched all these flying dudes chucking fireballs at each other underneath this otherworldly storm.  John the Revelator saw these ‘living creatures’ with a crazy ton of eyes and wings all over the place.   Have you considered all the weird combinations of human and animal parts on those ‘living creatures’??  The Bible says it, not a fairy tale.  If we know that fire-tossing spirits exist, and ones that have faces of four different creatures, and ones covered all over with nothing but eyes and wings, then maybe Centaurs and Mermaids aren’t so weird after all?

Let’s assume for a moment that this isn’t quite so “out there” after all (Okay, let’s face it—it’s totally “out there”, but hopefully that some of what you enjoy about The Kings of Eden—we aren’t afraid of the “out there”, and hopefully we even make it meaningful.).  The next obvious question becomes “what is the point”?  I mean, if we accept for a moment that all these things do exist, then why do we care?

I had some friends ask me once if this isn’t all just some huge spiritual charade, a cosmic distraction to keep us busy on unimportant things that have nothing to do with us as humans, and even more-nothing to do with our spiritual walk.  While that is possible, I think it is unlikely.  First off, Paul stated something that if it is a distraction is a valid point— “. . .  in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11).”  If it’s a scheme of the enemy, then at least being aware of it is a good idea.  Hiding our heads in the sand of Ni-ev-etee, the capitol city of La-la-land, never helped anyone.  If these spirits exist (and they certainly do), then we should at least take the time to figure out what they’re about before moving on.  I mean, the book of Revelation has kept people guessing for centuries and everyone has their own inaccurate opinion on the subject, but people still spend tons of time plumbing the depths of the book.  How is this any worse?  No, if we are to inherit the earth, take dominion over it and all that, we owe it to ourselves to at least have a clue of whether we are sharing the planet with anyone.

Let’s pretend for a minute that it’s not all just one big illusory sideshow put on by the enemy, and that there actually is a point.  The faerie realm is something that has pretty much been relegated to the New Age, Wiccans, and the like—people who are unlikely to know Jesus, but who have also hit upon some tangible reality in these areas.  If they are busying themselves with the fairies and don’t know Jesus, and if we care about them at all, we should at least be able to hold an intelligent conversation with them when they tell us about these sorts of things.  Did you know that “they’re just demons” isn’t a very effective evangelistic tool?  Delivery is nine tents of the message.  Even if you are convinced they are demons, coming to the table with some data in advance allows for honest and open communication with someone instead of what amounts to legalistic finger-pointing.

And what if, perchance, those who believe in the existence of so-called mythical beings are actually onto something?  What if there is a purpose to all of this fairy-tale interaction?  Here’s how I see it.  In the same way that God has made all angels ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), He has made other spirits to govern other things too.  In Genesis it states that God created the sun to govern the day and the moon the night, but He created light a few days prior.  The sun and moon realistically are probably both a physical object and are or have a spiritual governing entity.  In Malachi 4:2 it says “the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings”.  If the sun doesn’t have a spiritual counterpart, a spirit that directs the activity of the sun, then I have absolutely no clue as to what Malachi is talking about.  And technically, no, it isn’t talking about Jesus.  The word used there is shemesh, which literally means “sun”.  Angels are referred to as stars in a few different places in scripture, and the sun technically is a star.  Why couldn’t the sun and moon have spirits that govern their activity?  And wouldn’t that explain a bit better why so many cultures seem to think that the sun and moon have or are gods? The realm of the Fair Folk and their ilk are all Nature Spirits.  If there are angels or other spirits that govern various solar bodies (what I call Stellar Spirits), then is it hard to believe that other spirit beings govern and shepherd the activities of creation on earth?

Next week we are going to look at this subject further (read part 2 here), pondering what God’s purposes might be in creating nature spirits, as well as ways He might want us to partner with them to steward this earth for all of humanity.

Don’t Fear Demons—Make Demons Fear YOU

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”16″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Last weekend we had an AWESOME time hosting the 2018 Portland School of Resurrection (Head over to Oneglance.org if you want to host one yourself).  At the end, we had a fire tunnel, which is basically a cross between a gauntlet and a prayer line.  You walk between two lines of people and everyone lays hands on you as you go, with the expectation that you will continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit and power until you reach the end of the line.  At one point, a friend walked through and as people laid hands on her, she began to choke.  I had felt led to keep an eye on her as she went through, and it turned out this was why—I could see her mouthing “I can’t breathe” as she held her hands to her neck and was crying.

Normally this might seem like a medical emergency, but under the circumstances, it was something different.  This friend has a history of Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA), and as a result has what is commonly termed Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID.  This condition involves the fracturing of the soul into different pieces, fragments and alters, to try to protect the individual from the pain of trauma.  While everyone has fragments, in SRA this is done on-purpose for a variety of reasons, but mostly it is to use the soul like a spiritual battery.  If you want to learn more about fragments and alters, DID, SRA, or just effective inner healing as a whole, check out my coauthored book Broken To Whole.

Back to my choking friend, I pulled her out of the prayer line immediately as I commanded the demons to let go of her, and sat her down on a seat next to us.  I then asked her who I was talking to.  The first thing she did was scrunch up her face and hiss at me. I immediately began to call her core personality up, saying “_(Name)_, come up!”  I did this because I wasn’t quite sure how to get the demons to stop harassing her, or where to go next, and getting her back up seemed like a good place to start.  While I rapidly got one of her main alters back up, as her core self was unavailable, I believe I missed out on an opportunity to bring her into greater freedom.

In hindsight, I probably should have taken a few minutes to interrogate the spirit who was hissing at me, as I probably would have discovered its entry point and been able to get rid of it once and for all.  After all, what was it going to do—hiss at me some more??  I think sometimes we get afraid when we start dealing with demons.  We wonder what is happening to the person inside when the demon is up and controlling the face or body.  We wonder if the demon is going to hurt us (and in all reality, some can, so it’s not an absurd notion to consider), or other concerns or fears.  The problem is that if we give in to those fears, try to avoid the demons, or otherwise freak out, we will miss out on opportunities to help people, like I believe I did.

While a good friend did spend some time praying with her afterwards, and I believe some good was done, she had been afraid the entire time that this episode was going to scare someone there.  And in fact it had scared someone, but the truth is that demons exist, they like to hide their presence in people, and don’t want people to get rid of them.  If someone gets scared because of a fairly weak, hissing demon, then how is that person going to be very effective against powers of darkness?  I believe this encounter could have been not just a time of deliverance for my friend, but possibly even a time of practical training for some of the other people present—a moment where they could encounter a very real spiritual being and discover just how far the authority and power of Jesus Christ in us extends.

In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Jesus both taught and commanded his disciples to cast out demons, so how is it any different for me and you?  As the Church, we need to help people grow to a place where you don’t fear demons—but rather make the demons fear you.

When Running Away Is Winning

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with some wonderful friends—kindred spirits really—at a conference.  After the evening session we went out for a bite to eat, and the events that transpired showed me something—that sometimes, running away is winning.

Three of us walked into a nearly empty Thai restaurant just before 10pm.  The hostess informed us they were nearing closing, so we talked to her for a few minutes to see what and/or if we could get some food while one friend went to the restroom.  During this time, someone behind the two of us said something to the effect of “I hate it when pedophiles stare at my kids.”  We turned around, not having noticed the family at the table behind us before, and not sure the guy was even talking to us at first.

Turns out he was.

In that first second or two, thoughts flew through my brain so fast that it takes more timeto describe them than it did to think them.  First, I thought the comment was really strange.  Then I realized this guy was not all there up top.  I was guessing mental illness of some kind, and the best solution to the problem was to engage as little as possible. . . until my friend turned around and said “Are you talking to us?  I’ve got four kids of my own, man.”

Oh No!!  He just engaged!  Mayday, Mayday, We are going down!

This man responded to us in negative fashion and my friend replied to each of his comments as we walked away in search of a table.  The problem was that each comment from this strange man escalated the level of severity and danger of the situation.  First it was “I’m in the military and I’m not afraid of you” as he stood up and walked toward us.  He wasn’t tall, but he was fairly muscular and we really didn’t want any trouble.  My friend’s reply was “We don’t want to fight you.” Shortly thereafter it went to “I will pull out my Beretta and shoot you.”  I did my best to get my friend to disengage, and he quite graciously apologized for offending this deranged individual, who then sat down and left us alone for a few minutes.

We sat down at a table, all the while hearing him mutter under his breath about how angry he was at us, cursing, etc.  Literally we had done nothing except stand near him for all this to occur.  I noticed at this time that he was drinking beer, and guessed that in addition to his drunkenness he probably also had PTSD and another underlying psych condition as well.  At any rate, things just felt very wrong, and with this guy ramping himself up all on his own, we were in potentially very real danger.  After all, it wasn’t clear if this man’s gun threat was as close as his pocket, his car, or was sitting at home, and we didn’t want to find out.  I quietly told my friend we needed to leave, so he went outside just as our other friend returned from the bathroom and sat down.

Not wanting to upset the crazy man two tables down, I very quietly said to this friend “Please leave the restaurant, I will explain outside.”  He sat there and looked at me funny.  Again I quietly and calmly said “Just go outside, I’ll be right behind you to explain.”  He still sat there.  Remember, too, that he had been in the bathroom the entire time and missed the entire situation, shooting threat included.  Again I near-whispered “Please listen to me. I need you to go outside, I will explain.  Please go outside.”  I think he must have picked up on the urgency in my voice because he did, thankfully, so I spoke briefly with the server then followed him out.  Even as we got in our vehicles to leave, this man got up from his table, walked outside, and headed toward my truck, posturing clearly to make sure he drove us off.

While none of this sounds super-spiritual at first, I think there is a valuable lesson here.  The demonic realms want to embroil us in problems at every turn, and one such problem would be a situation where we have an escape route but we choose to stand our ground just so “the enemy doesn’t win.”  The truth is, sometimes running away from danger is winning.

Consider this:

As best as we could tell, this man was manifesting demons in a big bad way, presumably both from the glory of God on us and in order to try to stop what God was doing that weekend.  I should mention here that my two friends were also the keynote speakers at this event.  Imagine if we had gotten into a brawl (did I mention this was a Thai food place and not a bar?).  As long as the guy didn’t have a gun on him, we probably would have won given that it would have been three-on-one and one of my friends is a muscular beast.  That said, I am positive we all would have been injured, possibly with broken bones, and might have gotten arrested as well until the police could sort things out.  Any way it went, the only way to avoid a total disaster was to do what we did—run away.

Sometimes when we are faced with what are ultimately spiritual battles, we feel we strongly need to stand our ground.  On the other hand, sometimes wisdom is the better part of valor, and leaving the combat zone is the best way to go.

Why I Focus on Healing Fragments and Alters

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”15″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Some people have a serious misconception about healing fragments and alters that creates a significant barrier to the healing process.  In the past I have had a few different people approach me online to point out they believe that my “focus” on trying to tell everyone their souls are broken into pieces is creating more brokenness, and giving the enemy greater room to afflict people by speaking death over them.  I believe inner healing is incredibly important, and I take it quite seriously, both in my own life and that of others, so I feel it is important to clear up some misunderstanding, and to explain why I focus on healing fragments and alters.

Let me ask you this:  if, as a nurse, I educate a diabetic patient about their diabetes, informing them of the risks and problems associated with their condition, am I making their diabetes worse?  Of course not.  On the contrary, by educating the patient about his or her pre-existing condition, I set up conditions to help manage and even help heal the problem (And yes, Type II Diabetes can be reversed).

If someone is unaware of a preexisting problem, he or she cannot fix it.  People die from unexpected heart attacks every day because they were unaware they were in danger.  Educating the public about the risks of a diet and lifestyle that promotes poor cardiac health does not, again, exacerbate the problem.  It gives people room to turn things around before a fatal problem rears its ugly head.

Healing fragments and alters is no different.  If someone has struggled much of his or her life with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) the problem of multiple fractured parts is readily apparent.  But what about everyone else?  Abuse is a common cause of DID, but what about all of those people who have suffered abuse but haven’t manifested the symptoms?  Did they somehow escape the problem, or are they still suffering from a more covert version of the same issue?

I personally believe that every adult human has these fractured parts that need healing and integration into the core self.  Some don’t share that belief, and that is okay.  There is no rule that says we have to agree on everything.  Nevertheless, disagreeing with me that everyone has the problem doesn’t negate the fact that some people verifiably do have this problem.  If you don’t feel this subject speaks to you, that’s fine, but it doesn’t make the problem go away for those who are affected by it—and people are affected by it.

What about the accusation that pushing this view is only creating more brokenness, and is speaking death over people instead of life?  Again, it comes back to the goal.  I don’t talk about this subject to afflict people any more than someone who teaches about the problem of sin does so to add more sin.  No, we educate about the problem so we can connect people with a solution.  When I share that we have inner brokenness, the goal is to help connect people with resources to become whole.  For those who regularly follow my blog, you will observe that it is very rare that I discuss some type of problem without providing possible solutions or at least a direction to help move forward at the end of the article.  I have written a lengthy 9-part blog on physical healing to point out the reasons why people don’t heal, all in order to connect people with solutions.

We all want answers to life’s problems, and I firmly believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only lasting solution to those problems.  However, in spite of the fact that this gospel has been preached for 2,000 years, we rarely see the level of results that the Body of Christ ought to be seeing for what we teach and preach.  I personally am not content to continue to rehash the same teachings that haven’t borne significant fruit before and expect that repeating them enough times will somehow gain better results in the future.  Thus, I start asking intelligent questions to uncover hidden problems.  Why hidden problems?  Because if they were obvious, we would have fixed them already.

God has been giving healing ministers revelation on this subject for decades, possibly even centuries, but it has taken time to become more mainstream.  My personal goal with this is not just to see those “difficult cases” receive healing, but to accelerate the healing process for everyone.  What if methods that work with healing fragments and alters were able to condense decades of prayer counseling and professional therapy into just a few years of work?  What if we could get people healed from significant issues such as lifelong Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) or even lesser problems, in such a way and with a speed that they don’t pass these issues on to their children?  Wouldn’t it be great if, when we prayed and asked God to accelerate the healing process, we actually expected God to give us wisdom and revelation to make that occur?

I am convinced that is what we are seeing now in this new wave of inner healing that focuses on restoring and integrating broken parts of the soul and spirit.  It is not and has never been about creating more brokenness—that would be stupid and counterproductive.  It is about identifying pre-existing problems and connecting individuals with the resources they need to become whole.  This is why I have such a focus on healing fragments and alters—to help usher in greater healing and freedom for every single person.

As with every other blog post I write on these types of subjects, here is the part where you can find help if this subject speaks to you:

1)  Check out my coauthored book Broken To Whole: Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul.  I and my coauthors discuss this subject, and others, in significant depth, providing practical solutions for those struggling in this area, and education for those who aren’t sure if they have this problem or not—and if you aren’t sure, get the book and let it help you find out!  This could be an answer to your prayers for solutions.

2)  For those who are concerned that this view is not scriptural, I encourage you to read another article featured on my blog titled Healing Fragments and Alters: From Genesis to Jesus by Matt Evans, healing minister, guest author, and one of the other coauthors of our book Broken To Whole:  Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul.  It is mentioned in a number of places in scripture; the book goes into more detail than the article, but the article is a great starting point.

3)  Pick up a bottle of Fragment Finder flower essence from Freedom Flowers, specifically designed to help accelerate the healing and integration process.

4) If you want to pick up both the book and the essences, you can get the Broken To Whole Essence Kit, which includes both the book and a five-essence combination that should help address the most significant aspects of this process of soul healing.

5) Connect with a prayer counselor and/or inner healing minister to jump-start your journey to wholeness.  Check out our Resources Page for contact information.

When The Lights Go Out

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”15″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

I’m not so much afraid of the darkness itself, but I do get bothered by those spirits which seem to prefer to roam about in it.  Often at night, especially when the moonlight is not strong, I close the curtains.  The evil spirits that roam about make me uncomfortable, and sometimes I feel they congregate near the windows of the house just to bother me.  Thus, I draw the blinds.  Closing the curtains doesn’t make the nighttime spirits go away, but it makes it so I don’t notice them as easily.  I can’t possibly try to fight every spirit that comes out, so I find it far easier to ignore the things that appear when the lights go out.

One of the most perplexing observations I have made to date about things spiritual is that evil spirits are more active at night.  Certainly most tales of myth and lore agree with this, and if you speak to almost any child he or she is far more afraid during the nighttime hours than during the day.  In fact, even adults are more fearful after the sun goes down than when it is high in the sky, but the subject rarely comes up.  After all, what adult wants to admit to being afraid of the dark?

It is a curious thing, and one I have always wondered about.  The best explanation I can give is that the energy from sunlight has a restraining effect on evil spirits, and while far less-so with moonlight, a full moon is a better time to be out and about at night than during a new moon when no sunlight is reflected back upon us.  The first chapter of Genesis reveals some interesting insight into this matter.

Genesis 1:14-19 says, “And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.  God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”

I find it very interesting, and telling, that the sun and moon have three main functions as laid out in 1:18—to give light, govern the day and night, and to separate light from darkness.  At first glance, these would appear awfully redundant, but I think they are talking about different things.  The first is a physical function—giving light.  The second is a matter of authority—denoting what these celestial bodies are responsible for, and what they govern.  The third suggests that they act as some sort of boundary or dividing line, separating light from darkness.  If we consider this, I suppose it becomes less surprising that evil spirits would be less overtly active during the day, because the sun has separated them as being from the darkness.  At night, especially when the moon and its illuminating powers are at a lull, the forces of darkness and all manner of evil spirits are left either very minimally restrained or totally unrestrained.

I used to imagine vampires were outside my third-floor bedroom window when I was a kid, and even as a teenager.  I didn’t believe they existed, I didn’t watch horror movies, and I had no understanding of visions, yet I would unintentionally imagine them from time to time anyway.  The thing was that when I would see them in my imagination, I was always totally creeped out by them, and would often leave my room and go downstairs where other people were—even though I thought myself silly for doing it.

As an adult, I discovered those vampires I used to imagine were very real, and when those images would come into my imagination it wasn’t because I was creating them or summoning them to me.  Rather, I was simply observing that which was already there.  The imagination isn’t a land of pure fantasy—it is the canvas of our mind by which our consciousness perceives spiritual reality.  If you find the darkness uncomfortable, you aren’t alone.  I suspect there are many people out there like me—those who are disturbed by the spirits that come out after the sun goes down.  You aren’t simply being bothered by things you imagine, but rather those things you see in your imagination are very real.

I haven’t figured out a good solution as of yet.  Certainly prayer helps, in theory, but as I said, I don’t have the time and energy to try to deal with every single thing that goes bump in the night in the wide world, so I tend to focus on those that I see inside the house, and those outside get the curtains drawn.  What do you do to help deal with unwelcome spirits when the lights go out?

Overcoming The Fear Of Death

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font_size=”16″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Back in 2002, shortly after the movie A Walk To Remember came out, I was a freshman in college and it was playing at some evening campus event.  Having nothing to do, I decided to watch it, and was in tears toward the end when ***spoiler alert*** one of the main characters, played by Mandy Moore, dies.  It was a sad ending to a movie but it had that sweet, angsty relationship drama that seems to be so big among teenagers, of which I was one at the time.  For whatever reason, I have always been able to identify with that movie–the desire to get married at a young age, and the fear that my spouse would die many years before me.

I don’t recall when either the desire to be married young or the fear of early spousal death took hold within my heart, but both conditions certainly have been set up in my life.  At age 23, my wife and I got married, and she was (and remains) 24 years older than I am.  I find it interesting that both my deep desire to be married young and my potential fear of my spouse dying early have been all wrapped up into one.  Certainly I don’t hope for that, but given our significant age difference, that possibility certainly exists, at least in a normal life where people believe that we are all fated to die.

If we fast forward to now, where I am 33, I don’t actually believe in death and dying, preferring to simply live forever like Jesus promised us so many times in scripture.  Yet, at the same time I still find myself getting sick every winter, and my wife experiences chronic pain and a host of other issues from long-term mercury poisoning from dental amalgam fillings (if you have them, get them out of your mouth–they are slowly killing you).  Neither of these look very much like the abundant life Jesus promised us.

I found myself the other day thinking about the fact that my wife is in pain every day, and it’s really just a question of how much pain she is going to be in.  I was talking to God about the situation, and A Walk to Remember came to mind.  I realized that the fears I harbor regarding my spouse dying an early death are a contributing factor to attracting death and disease in her life.  God reminded me that in the same way that Job’s fears were largely responsible for the calamity he experienced (Job 3:25 says, “What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.”) that I influence my wife’s health to some immeasurable degree through my fear.

After I was prompted about this, I began to repent in prayer and renounce those fears and the beliefs underlying them.  I asked the Lord to bring healing into every place in my heart that is hurt and has given room for those fears.  I asked Him to touch every fragmented and fractured part of my soul that is not part of my core self that may hold this fear of spousal death and of the pain and loss associated with it, ministering to them and bringing them into greater freedom.  Shortly after that, I began to get nauseous, which is often indicative to me of demons manifesting if it occurs during or after a time of prayer.  I began to address the demons associated with those hurts and fears and erroneous beliefs.  I do not believe I am finished with this fear and the underlying beliefs, but I do feel I have made a step forward, both in correcting my own thoughts and emotions that are tied into death, and in altering the attraction I bring by my beliefs into my life and subsequently into my wife’s.

Some of the techniques I used are similar to those found in my new coauthored book Broken to Whole: Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul which we have just launched this week.  In this book you will learn not only how to identify fragmented parts of your soul and spirit that need healing and integration, but you will uncover why and how they got broken to begin with, as well as what problems they have been causing in your life.  I believe that many readers will find a light-bulb goes on in their minds as they read this book.  You will begin to uncover contributing spiritual factors behind frustrating life patterns, physical ailments, and more, as well as techniques and solutions on how to fix them.  I encourage you to pick up a copy of Broken To Whole today to kick-start and accelerate your healing journey.

For those interested in additional help, you can use the “Fragment Finder” flower essence alongside the book to help move your emotional healing journey forward even faster.

Engaging the Stars of Orion’s Belt

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” text_font=”Times New Roman||||” text_font_size=”18″ use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

As someone who lives in the Northern Hemisphere, Orion is one of my favorite constellations—quite probably because it is super-easy to find and is visible much of the year from my location.  I never expected what happened to me late one night, however.  It was either in fall or winter, when Orion is visible in the sky south of my driveway.  I was taking out the trash when I became aware of a demonic presence on the property seeking to attack me.

I saw in a vision that it was not more than five meters from me, and I started praying in tongues.  Right as this was happening, three celestial beings appeared, lined up in a row between me and the demonic assailant.  While it may not seem deeply significant that three angels came to protect me, what struck me was that they weren’t angels—at least not as we typically view them.  These three celestial beings were the Stars in Orion’s Belt. stellar spirits orions belt cosmosAn experience such as this has the potential to open up entirely new realms of understanding, but the first thing it does is open up more questions?  Is it possible that other spirits exist out there in the universe that aren’t angels or demons?  Do spirits govern the stars and planets?  Can stars and the spirits of the stars interact with and influence us in the earth?  All of these things are both possible and do occur.  Scattered throughout the Old Testament there are references to groups of people making sacrifices to stars and the spirits of stars—one verse in particular speaks of sacrificing to the starry host as a whole.  What this says to me is that stars, or rather the spirits of the stars (whom I call stellar spirits), were coming down to Earth and interacting with mankind, leading them to their horrible practices of child sacrifice.

Furthermore, the scriptures say some strange things that only make sense if this was happening.  Exodus 20:4 says, “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.”  This command only makes sense if there indeed ARE forms in the heavens to make images of.  After all, how does one make a graven image of a series of blinking dots high in the sky?  I can only make the intelligent inference that these peoples were having encounters, like the one I had, with stellar spirits.

Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”  This means that if something has happened in the past with the Israelites, we shouldn’t be surprised that we encounter stellar spirits as well.  Ephesians 3:10 states “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.”  If God expects us to reveal His wisdom to rulers and authorities in the heavens, we might actually have to interact with the rulers and authorities of the heavenly realms.

Madeline L’Engle, author and mystic, spoke somewhere in her book A Wrinkle In Time about how stars are made of flaming gas, but that’s only their physical makeup, not what they are.  After all, our bodies are primarily made up of atoms of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, but I think we all agree that we are far more than what we are made of.  If stars can be made of flaming gas but actually have or be a spirit being, then what is to keep the planet Earth from being the same way?  Is it possible that the term Mother Earth is derived from something that indigenous cultures know about a governing spirit over our planet that science simply cannot prove?  While I’m not saying this is conclusively so, I find it interesting that C.S. Lewis in his Space Trilogy covers this very same subject, weaving it into the fabric of the story.  His writing, too, clearly evidences that he has gleaned a deeper understanding in some way about the spiritual forces that influence our world.

Ultimately, whether one believes in stellar spirits or not isn’t going to influence whether you go to heaven or not, but it is still important.  God is revealing the mysteries of His creation and unveiling revelation after revelation to us, His children and heirs of His promise, so that we can walk in them to the fullest level possible.  The stars, planets, and other celestial bodies are not going anywhere anytime soon, so we had best get on board with the program—where we rule and reign as sons and daughters of the Most High.  After all, the entire cosmos is waiting for us to get a revelation of who we are in Him—even the stellar spirits.

To Fling A Witch

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]

Shortly before I got married, my wife and I and a few other people took on a witch coven in spiritual warfare. It was a bit unexpected, and we had no plans for such activity. However, we were worshiping in my wife’s living room in the spirit I saw someone walking up the stairs to her second floor. It took me a moment to realize I was observing someone who had astral-projected into the house, but moments later I sprung into action. Sunshine and I walked upstairs as the others continued to worship and pray below. At the top of the stairs I turned left into the first bedroom, which had a doorway on the far end connecting to a bathroom and another small room.

Stepping into the room I immediately saw this person again, so I reached out and flung them across the room. While this might sound strange to some, astral bodies rarely can interact with physical objects, but nothing is stopping me, a spirit being who lives in a body, from interacting with them. Thus, I threw him. He fell, and I watched him crawl on his hands and knees through the hallway into the other room; we followed. Upon entering that room, I saw a vision of four people standing there, all of whom had projected in. We summarily ejected them from the premises.

That night and the days that followed were an intense time of training for me and my wife, as we had never dealt with anything of this level before–and for the most part hadn’t again until this past year. I discovered just how much our will directs what happens in the spirit realm. I discovered that there were prophets and prophetic people in ministry who were both aware of and able to spirit travel at will, but at that time were hiding it from the Body of Christ. I also discovered what happens when you win a battle but lose a war.

The next few years after this event I found my energy for Christian activities drained away. I still loved God but it was like I just didn’t have any emotional reserve available to actually get involved in anything spiritual. During this time I read a number of books by a range of spiritual authors, some of whom lack the revelation of Jesus Christ but who have done fascinating and informative study into a number of aspects of prayer, faith, miracles, and more. I didn’t understand why I felt so spiritually drained until I read a book by shamanic teacher Ted Andrews titled The Intercession of Spirits. In this book he discussed many things, but one in particular spoke to me at that moment–he shared how at one point he saw himself as a ‘psychic white knight’ and took on a guy who was psychically harassing a friend. What Ted didn’t know at the time was that this guy had an entire cult backing him, whereas Ted was alone. The moment I read this, a light bulb went on and I realized what I was experiencing was the result of fighting against a coven in a spiritual battle without fully understanding what I was involved in.

This is the sort of thing that I find seldom discussed, but it would have been extremely helpful to have learned. It isn’t something anyone I knew could have taught me simply because no one I knew had any experience in this arena to be able to teach–whether regarding spirit travel and astral projection, battling witches in the spirit, or anything else related. Since then I have found myself among others who have had a similar learning curve as myself–difficult but highly educational. I learned that what we oftentimes see as a one-time battle they tend to view as a long-term war. When we think we are finished, they’re just getting started–and we have to be in it for the long-haul.

While this might not seem a super upbeat or encouraging post, I believe it is important that we understand that not only is there a real spiritual battle with demonic forces, but there are humans who have willingly aligned themselves with powers of darkness and who actively seek out those whom they can attack. Over the years I have removed spiritual seals, broken curses, and in other ways dealt with the influence of witchcraft attacks both over myself, my wife, and friends and family. This isn’t a problem that goes away when we ignore it, and we must learn to become aware of the schemes of the enemy. We fight with powerful spiritual weaponry that is able to destroy the works of darkness and release the light of the Kingdom of God into the world, and I’ve read the end of the book: Jesus wins. No matter how difficult or dark things may get, keep fighting, keep your head up, and continue to pursue Heaven–for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

DID Self-Healing: Integrating Fragments and Alters

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

I have been working with a prayer counselor for over a year now to work on what could be termed soul-healing. While I have discussed in previous articles about what fragments are and why they are important to address, I have not as of yet discussed how to heal them when you don’t have a prayer-partner available to help. The benefit of this for me is that I can accelerate the integration process, using the work I do with my counselor as a base to pursue further prayer work on my own. Thus, I will attempt to explain my own process of fragment self-healing.

When I first learned about and started working in this area, I realized I had already done some self-healing fragment work but didn’t know at the time that I was working with fragments. All I knew was that what I saw in the spirit seemed to be effective so I would do it from time to time with no terminology for it. Since then I have developed a slightly more defined method that works well for me, and hopefully it will work well for you. If not, my hope is that it provides some insight that you can use to develop your own method.

I used to begin by imagining a large space with a platform in the center. On that platform was a pillar of gold or blue light, with a small version of me in the middle. I view this as my “core self”. fragment self-healing alters DID dissociative identity disorder  I would envision lots of people standing outside the pillar–other versions or aspects of myself that needed to be brought into unity and wholeness. I would then mentally intend or will for those fragments to line up and walk up the steps of the platform and into the light. As they would walk into the pillar, they would be sucked inside my image of my core self. One of the things that surprised me when I did this was just how many fragments were milling around outside the light pillar–hundreds, possibly more. Even when I had them line up and integrate, there were usually still many more that wouldn’t get in line and join together.

This was one of the things that showed me I was on to something. Typically, when I daydream and imagine something, I am fully in control of what happens because it is all inside my mind. When I engage spiritual reality, not everything responds according to my will simply because there are other sentient beings involved whose choices I can’t control. In this case, those fragments who chose not to integrate were those who were either not ready or not willing to do so. I would at times try to make them integrate, but that only worked minimally as I could sense them fighting against me.

Fast forward years later, I still use an integration method that is similar, but I have added a few components. First, while I still make use of a “fragment plain”–the open space filled with fragments–I have changed the way I visualize the location. Now I often imagine myself in the throne room of God with the fragments and my core self in front of the Father. Jesus is there and I ask Him and the angels to help me integrate the fragments, which they do. I begin by asking Jesus to separate all the fragments who are ready to integrate at this moment, and to have them come join my core self. Then I ask the angels to minister to all of the fragments who are close to being ready, but who aren’t quite there yet. As I do this, and give it a few minutes, sometimes they will choose to integrate as well. Finally, I ask Jesus to work on the ones who aren’t ready–and most especially to reveal Himself to the fragments that don’t know Him.

The most recent time I did fragment self-healing was while driving to work. For some this may seem dangerous but I have become accustomed to engaging the visionary realm while doing other activities, so it was relatively safe and easy for me. What surprised me was that on this particular occasion as I began to have the fragments integrate, I began to cry. This is significant to me because I have found when working with fragments that crying indicates healing and integration. In the natural our bodies release tears when negative emotional energies are released, and the physical composition of our tears are different from when we have something in our eye. Thus, when I found myself crying it further confirmed to me that this method actually works and isn’t a figment of my imagination.

The main benefit of self-integration is that I don’t have to wait for someone else. Jesus is the Master-healer and if I let Him guide the session it tends to be effective. Previously when I didn’t understand what I was doing I tried to force the fragments to integrate via my will, and while it worked for some, there were others that simply wouldn’t respond and nothing I did could make them. When Jesus loves them into submission, they willingly go where He leads, and as He is the Good Shepherd, they are able to trust Him with their safety and well-being when it comes time to integrate.

The other important thing about being Spirit-led in this process, and letting Jesus run the show, is that He will often do more than I expect. Most recently He took three fragments with Him that He indicated needed special attention–and far more help than I was going to be able to provide them on my own. From what I was able to discern, these particular fragments were under heavy demonic bondage. He assured me that in the right time He would integrate them with me, but that He was going to do a deep work in them and set them free.

If fragment self-healing is something you are interested in or have been seeking, consider trying the method laid out above. If the idea of using the throne room of God doesn’t work for you, try another location. The fragment plain is always a good option, and you can fill it with healing power and glory light in prayer before you assemble your fragments there. The benefit of the light pillar is that it acts as a protective mechanism for your core self–keeping it inside the pillar and having the other fragments come to it is an act of submission and/or subservience, which really just ensures that no other personalities take over during the integration process. While it is not extremely common, it can happen, so the protective screen seems prudent to me.

If you try this out, consider commenting and sharing your experiences below.  Share what worked, what didn’t work, and any new things you learn along the way. If you have another method that works well for you, share that as well–because I firmly believe when we share what we know, together we grow. Blessings!

These techniques I used are now available with additional techniques and advice in my new coauthored book Broken to Whole: Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul .

For those interested in additional help, you can use the “Fragment Finder” flower essence by Freedom Flowers as an adjunct. alongside the book to help move your emotional healing journey forward even faster.
